The bridge between World of Noise and Sparkle and Fade,
By
This review is from: White Trash Hell (Audio CD)
This is an EP of songs that were recorded with original drummer Scott Cuthburt. I think these songs were recorded in 1993 or 1994, for sure after the World of Noise songs were recorded. This collection starts off with Heroin Girl, an earlier recording of the song from Sparkle and Fade. Then Pacific Wonderland, a surf instrumental that Everclear has been playing on their 2003 tour. Blondes and Detriot are ok songs, but 1975 is great. It's heavy and features dirty screaming guitars. For Pete's Sake is another great one from this collection. It's a song about someone who's mad at you for winning the girl. True story, too. Finally an acoustic version of Fire Maple Song with current drummer Greg Eklund closes the disc. This song has always been a fan favorite, but this acoustic version will make you want to cry. This disc is very interesting and very enjoyable most of the way. I'd recommend it to hardcore Everclear fans only and to all those who love World of Noise and Sparkle and Fade. If you want the rock side of Everclear, here it is!

This is a Hella Good B-Side Compilation,

This is a great little B-Side Compilation from Everclear, as we get a strange early version of 'Heroin Girl', a surf instrumental 'Pacific Wonderland', an ass kicking '1979', and the beautiful gem of the album, 'Fire Maple Song' acoustic. I forked out a staggering $18 for this little fella, but for an Everclear enthusiast, it's worth it. I highly suggest for the World of Noise/Sparkle and Fade Everclear fan.

I bought cd not knowing what to expect. And man was I happy with i got! This cd is full of B sides and studios from their early years and shows you how hard they used to rock! If you are looking for the softer side of Everclear that everyone is used to, you won't find it here! Includes the original version of Heroin girl, well worth it just for that alone! Rock On Baby!

Great collection of b-sides and rarities. I'm forced to give it 4 stars, becuase of it's short length (just over 20 minutes.) These songs are really similar to those on World of Noise and Sparkle and Fade, my favorite Everclear albums. Everclear's last three albums were real stinkers in my opinion (especially the new one..) They're way too radio friendly and effect heavy. This compilation is better than all three of the last albums (both american movie volumes and slowmotion daydream) combined. I prefered the raw rough sound of early Everclear much better. This seven track collection preserves that sound. Recommended to Everclear fans without hesitation.

I found this EP used and in perfect condition. I think I may like it better than World of Noise!! It comes from about that same gritty place. This album has seven tracks which include a only slightly different version of Heroin Girl, an instrumental surf song Pacific Wonderland, Blondes, Detroit (Michigan Girlfriend), 1975, For Pete's Sake, and finally, a beautiful acoustic version of World of Noises' Fire Maple Song. Art puts some love in his voice and really sings with heart!! I have been repeating it since I got it. I am *smitten*!! Everclear's World of Noise fans will love it!!

I first listened to this excited for the release looking for the sound i have come to love/ the quality isnt so great. its a little scratchy and the heavy music drounds out the lyrics. so, if you like all these things buy the album, if not then dont. simple as that. ROCK ON EVERCLEAR!
