This is a great book, with really solid tips and trips written in a uniquely hilarious style. Don't be fooled by the title; the bulk of this book is extremely relevant to most parents (trashy, white, or otherwise) on how to keep your sanity and perspective in a society that tends towards extreme parenting. A must-read!

Love this book. It was a fast read. That Michelle Lamar is one sharp cookie. She is on a crusade against perfection and leads us on a trail to follow. Who said motherhood has to be pretty and perfect? Ah ha, she gives real and honest advice about how to navigate your way through the school yard, but also makes you laugh by sharing her personal stories. This book will make you miss the days of opening your lunch box and seeing that foiled wrapped ding dong.

I just received a copy of this book as a gift from a mom girlfriend and what a treat it was! I've just bought a stack to give out to my friends at our annual mother's day party (without our kids!)because it's the perfect combination of great (hysterical!) writing and really thoughtful, smart, tried in the field tips. I wish this author lived in my neighborhood -- her advice helps me get through my insane days as a mother of three. Good thing I can visit her blog at least.

Even though I try not to let the competitive moms get to me, sometimes I feel like I'm failing to keep up with the 21st century version of being a mom. The White Trash Mom Handbook is the perfect volume that helps me keep things in perspective with a grain of salt and a sense of humor.

The book isn't about being "white trash" -- it's about taking the life of modern day motherhood in stride and staying focused, with humor, on how to keep from getting sucked into the power games at school and the inevitable comparisons we get about which mommies are the best mommies.

I love Michelle Lamar and I think you will too!

Love this book! She has me cracking up throughout the book about everyday things that we all experience. For some reason, it's hilarious hearing anothers' take on it though!

I love the chart on the baked goods and what message your sending. Which one do you do? :)

MUST read for any mom trying to do it all and needs a good laugh!

Taken with a sense of humor, The White Trash Mom Handbook is a refreshing respite to anyone who's ever battled with baking from scratch, or felt guilty for not signing up for the class trip, or taken to screening your calls, even though you are a stay-at-home mom and probably could have arranged [cough, cough] to be available.

In my opinion, their message is clear - it's okay NOT to be perfect. Just strive to be an exceptionally good example of being human.

But, then again, I am a Professional Dork!

This book is very funny take on how to cope with trying to be a great mom, wife and still hold a full time job. It is a quick read and a great escape from the stress of trying to do it all! This is a great book and one that I am giving all my friends for Christmas!

Don't let the "White Trash" bit fool you... This isn't really for trailer park moms--this book is for EVERY mom who (obviously) loves her kid/s but sometimes needs to take a shortcut to get through the mommy madness. Hello? That's all of us!!! There are so many great tips in this book that will make your life easier and happier that you won't even want to lend it out--you'll have to buy your friends their own copy. The chapter on which school volunteer activities to pick and why, alone, should make this book required reading for all parents (at least, the ones with a sense of humor). I love this author and can't wait for her next book! Still laughing...

Love, Love it! Never a dull moment with this book. This is one crazy mom and she thinks of it all! Highly recommend to any white trash mom or white trash want a be! Fun and certainly entertaining!

What a totally fun, and funny book! Bought it for several of my friends and they have all loved it as much as I did! Loads of laughs, great advice, and hilarious anecdotes!
