When Wilbur Bone inherits his friend Michael’s dive boat, he knows his quality of life will definitely improve—that is, if he can survive the treacherous and deep waters of Lake Ontario.
After the monetary assets are divided among Michael’s kids, Wilbur learns that he has just inherited Michael’s personal belongings, including his boat, the Gold Hunter. Apprehensive at first, Wilbur soon finds himself enjoying the sense of relaxation and renewed energy that accompanies diving. He starts receiving requests to charter scuba outings, to which he readily agrees. After a chain of events plunges Wilbur into the petrifying depths of the lake, his peaceful life is shattered as violence and greed invade his quiet life.
When Wilbur finds a poem left for him by his old friends, he initially blows it off. Was Michael actually trying to communicate with Wilbur through the cryptic verses left in the cigar box?
