A wonderful telescope that only needs a little "fine-tuning!",

I was somewhat dismayed at the current rating of only "2" for this fine telescope. The TwinStar 6" short-
tube reflector has has many wonderful attributes. First, consider the focal length of 1400 mm, which exceeds many scopes that cost twice the amount. It allows even for a 25mm eyepiece to have a minimum power of 56%. Secondly, the tripod is built to withstand the toughest conditions. It provides a solid and blur-free resistance for steady observations of your astronomical targets. Lastly, no scope is any good without the user being able to locate their target(s). I found that the finderscope was useless, as with most scopes, but it is easily replaced with a Telrad finder that provides hours of fun for star-hopping from one object to the next. Personally, I like this telescope, its easy to move around, and when set-up properly, gives hours of enjoyable entertainment for viewing the heavens.

I own this exact product in black. i had bought it from [...] which had no reviews about it. little did i know that the telescope was originally made by Baytronix which was reviewed as a great beginner telescope for anyone who needs to fill that empty spot in their apartment or home with a wonderful looking dust collector. but as for the performance? sub par. i've tried to use it to see jupiter and the best i get is a bright fuzzy blob. even with the recommended blue filter. however if you're looking for a telescope for your son or daughter for a gift you know theyre going to grow out of then by all means buy this, but if you're in to astrography (celestial photography) or want a hobby scope i reccomend looking elsewhere.
