4.0 out of 5 stars Good Book
I have not read the first book, so I have no idea how this book would rate against the first one. I however think for the most part the author did a wonderful job on imagery! one downfall of the book was that it was slow to start however towards the end this book is a bit hard to put down. So much happens to Hralekana who is the "Hero." I found the ending to be...

2.0 out of 5 stars Artificial Propaganda of Ecology
This is the second book of "The Whalesong Trilogy", continued from "Whalesong". The hero whale is Hralekana, son of Hruna (the hero of the first book).

I liked the first book, but I am disappointed in this second book. The first seemed as though it had been written by a real whale. But the second becomes an artificial propaganda of ecology and it...

This review is from: White whale: A novel (Hardcover)

I however think for the most part the author did a wonderful job on imagery! one downfall of the book was that it was slow to start however towards the end this book is a bit hard to put down. So much happens to Hralekana who is the "Hero." I found the ending to be touching. If you thought about reading this book you should go for it, it's short, interesting, and touching.

2.0 out of 5 stars Artificial Propaganda of Ecology, November 3, 2000

This review is from: White Whale: Novel About Friendship and Courage in the Deep, A (Paperback)
This is the second book of "The Whalesong Trilogy", continued from "Whalesong". The hero whale is Hralekana, son of Hruna (the hero of the first book).

I liked the first book, but I am disappointed in this second book. The first seemed as though it had been written by a real whale. But the second becomes an artificial propaganda of ecology and it is definite that it is written by a man pretending a whale. Hruna was an ordinary whale, but Hralekana is a supernatural symbol of ecology. I feel sorry that this second book has ruined the charm of the first book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Cool...A decent book, as books go., February 8, 1998

This review is from: White whale: A novel (Hardcover)
This sequal to Whalesong, by the same author, is just as interesting as the first. It's not the best book I've ever read, but I don't think ANYTHING could beat that. (Who could beat Mercedes Lackey?!?!)
