Sarah recalled the day when she was a little girl, out on her own and she was hurt. An Indian brave helped her, and she trusted him. She has dreamt of that brave, and she wonders if she will ever see him again. Her Pa has died, and her guardian is an evil, loathsome man named Willie, who wants Sarah and the money her father left her. Sarah despises Willie. She is afraid of him and decides to leave her home in order to assure the safety of her older friends, Mary and Ben, and to look for her biological father, an Indian brave. Golden Eagle remembers the little girl he helped years ago. She had blond hair and sky blue eyes. He is restless and cannot explain why. He goes off by himself, and after wandering about, he hears sobbing. Golden Eagle approaches the person, and is stunned to find out it is the same girl he aided, but now she is a woman. Sarah knows immediately that this brave is her Golden Eagle. He believes the great spirit has brought them together again and that she is his soulmate. He takes her to his village, wanting to marry her. But Golden Eagle's marriage has already been arranged. Golden Eagle and Sarah fall deeply in love and she hopes to become his wife. An envious and mean spirited Indian girl dashes Sarah's dreams by telling her the truth of Golden Eagle's arranged marriage. Sarah, now known as White Wind, and Golden Eagle's future is uncertain. This book was very romantic and exciting, with many amusing details as well. The secondary characters, Red Fox, Wild-Flower, Seeing Eyes, Hawk Eyes, Mary and Ben, and White Cloud are all great additions to the story. Sarah is such a brave and lovely heroine, and is also half Indian, which makes it more entertaining. Golden Eagle is the chief's only son of their band of Sioux. He is a strong warrior, and a sexy and virile hero. He and Sarah compliment each other. This is one book that'll always be on my shelf. This was Ms. Edwards first book, not just in the White series, but her first ever book. And I must say that it's a keeper.

Fast paced, romantic Native American historical novel,

The reader will stay up all night to read this one. The characters Sarah and Golden Eagle will find their way into your heart and mind . I've received a letter from the author announcing book 2 in the White series, "White Wolf" has been sold . I can hardly wait for the next all night read !.
