Product Description

From the Manufacturer

This kit is based on 6 historical planes prominently displayed in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. Planes included: Lilienthal, Wright Flyer, Bleriot XI, Ryan NYP (Spirit of St. Louis), Lockheed Vega (Winnie Mae), Douglas DC-3. Whitewings are high performance paper gliders scientifically designed to fly just like real airplanes. Made with high quality Kent Paper, each Whitewings Glider is the result of hundreds of hours of research and development. Whitewings are manufactured in two types: paper type and paper-balsa type. When properly tuned and under good conditions, Whitewings are capable of catching thermals and gaining altitudes equal to the clouds for unbelievably long flights (up to 300 yards).

Product Description

Gliders-R-Us. We think Whitewings are the best gliders in the air, and these multi-craft kits combine the best of the best. The "Early Gliders" is their Milestones set of (6) historic flying machines: the Wright Flyer; the 1893 Lilienthal glider; the Bleriot X1; the Ryan NYP (Spirit of St. Louis); the Lockheed Vega; and the Douglas DC-3. The "Modern Gliders" comprises the Messerschmitt ME 262, the Bell X-1, the Boeing 367-80, the Air Force North American X-15, the Hawker Siddeley XV-6A Kestrel, and the Rutan Voyager. All are based on the real things that are on display at the Smithsonian. These are approx 10" long with a 12" wingspan, made in card stock and balsa, with a rubber-band launcher and a good 40pp manual.
