Is it a holiday song? Well, no, but it does have snow and a red on white theme. (Big smile)

It is lovely to see this absolutely mesmerizing tune from one of my very favorite groups get some well deserved attention. Now a wider audience can fall in love with them too.

I'm a huge fan of this band and would encourage everyone to give them a shot. This song isn't really christmas themed, but it does have some winter imagery.

While this absolutely mesmerizing tune is an amazing example of how well the band can harmonize, I have a hard time justifying it as a Christmas song (or even an xmas song). I love the band, the song, and the album, but blood on the ice doesn't exactly bring forth the holiday spirit.

Ragged Wood is a great song but it's not an instant classic like White Winter Hymnal. There are many better songs in the world but there is no song quite like the White Winter Hymnal. I wonder what led the artist to creating this tune. It makes me want to watch this young band perform. Download this, it's worth a buck anyway :)

I really liked this song and got while Amazon was offering it for free. Can't beat that. After listening to this song a few times through, I jumped over to Pandora and created a Fleet Foxes' station. Caught a few other of their songs including some from other other albums. Really enjoyed their sound and am now considering downloading the whole album. I give the the station a few more listens, catch a few more of their songs and see what happens. This song however is positively worth a buck.

Never heard of the band before, but it's a beautiful melody and not too slow. Should look into other songs by this group. Thanks for the free download, Amazon!

It's a pretty song, with great vocals, but I'm not sure about the lyrics/message. Once I downloaded and listened to it in it's entirety I was displeased- sounds rather morbid to me. Not a great choice for a Christmas song. Sure it has a Christmas-y SOUND, but if you really listen, it's not about anything to do with Christmas. Is it just me, or do the selections this year seem kind of lousy thus far? I really enjoyed this 25 days of free downloads advent-type "calendar" last year. I looked forward to getting up every day to download the latest. It made for a GREAT collection of Christmas songs, arrangements I was not familiar with. This year is disappointing by comparison.

This song, with its beautiful harmonies, made me an instant fan of Fleet Foxes and encouraged me to check out their other work. While not technically a Christmas song, it does have a wintery theme, so I am willing to accept Amazon's decision to put it on the free Christmas songs list. Hey, at least you are getting this song for free, right? Let's not look a gift horse in the mouth. This is one of the best free tracks available on Amazon in a long time.
