I am a 5th grade teacher, and my children loved this movie. We watched it to go along with the book Hatchet. It is very interesting and has nothing that any parents will object to having their kids watch.

Over all I would recommend A Cry in the Wild 2 for family viewing. While there are a lot of holes in the story, it has an 80's feel with the clothing and hair styles (offputting to preteens and teenagers) and some lame special effects it does have some wonderful scenery, good storyline and a strong message about taking on responsiblity and challenges. There is a brief reference to a plane crash that leads one to believe this is a sequel to Hatchet (or A Cry in the Wild 1 based on Hatchet). Kid's who have read Hatchet will enjoy that connection.

This is an amazing movie for people of all ages. It is a compelling and well acted movie. The scenery is breath taking, and that alone is a good enough reason to get this movie. I saw it when I was younger, and I still watch it to this day. It is a tale that stands the test of time.
