5.0 out of 5 stars White BOY thrives in a Black MANS"game"!! May 9, 2012
Verified Purchase
This thorough documentary of the most"intriguing"drug-dealer in mid-eighties Detroit really did a commendible job of giving a different perspective on the legendary Rick Wershe alter-ego of"White Boy Rick"as the validity of the outlandishly exaggerated claims of the amount of cocaine"White Rick"posessed is brought into question by a narcotics officer assigned to this case,as well as Mr Wershe himself as he details how the Federal Government initially got him mixed up into the DEADLY 80s' Detroit"dope game"only to"leave him hangin"when they'd gotten as much"use"out of him as they could.. You'll laugh as Wershe comments on the PREPOSTEROUS sentence he was facing(as well as the Prosecutions' refusal to let Adrian Derrick take the stand)for the(relatively)small amount of"weight"he was"busted"for, while Derrick(according to him)the BIGGEST"dope man"in the HISTORY of Detroit, who(according to Wershe again)dealt in THOUSANDS of kilos of coke(who often flew to Europe in a private JET taking off from the middle of Detroits' worst GHETTO,initialed with:"AD"was sitting right in the FRONT row of the court room totally"unaccosted'by/oblivious to the so-called authorities!! An eyebrow-raising observation is made in this documentary by a D.E.A.cop making a PROFOUND observation about how SO many of these"cautious/"careful"drug kingpins yet find themselves indicted on serious charges with:"EVERYbody wants to do"wrong";but NObody wants to go to prison.." "So,since EVERYbody wants to DO wrong and NObody wants to go TO prison, you end up with a LOT of people"TELLING"!! Also funny was how a cop recounts his first conversation with"White Rick"over the telephone:"This guy calls me up saying:"Yo,check this;this is"White Boy Rick".. Read more ›

1.0 out of 5 stars Free Rick! September 18, 2013
Rick Wershe is serving a LIFE sentence for one *non-violent* drug charge he got when he was a minor (*17 years old*) back in May of 1987. Three years prior at the age of 14 yrs old Rick was recruited by the FEDs, DEA and Detroit police to work as a teenage undercover drug informant. Free Rick Wershe!!!
