This game is better than sled storm PS2.
If you are a sled head (you know who you are) this is not the perfect snowmobile game we have long been waiting for, but this is good stuff. Great tracks, very good sled sounds, and good rider animation. Some of the hoops and trackside p/u 's are a bit Korny, but the Arcade mode is just as solid as the robust career mode.

Whiteout is not good at all. Konami really had a lot of pontential here, it could have been great... The trick system is based off of SSX, using the shoulder buttons to pull tricks. It is not very responsive, and the tricks are incredibly tame. The racing is average at best, but it won't really hold your interest. Objectives in each course feel forced, and usually don't blend in...

I just bought the PC version of this game from EBGames for $2.99 and it's worth 10 times that. The soundtrack is pretty kicking. And I saw a review somewhere where a guy said it was Rap music but he was wrong! All i've heard are some pretty heavy rock blasting from my 5.1's. Upgradeable sleds and drivers add a little extra to this high flying game. Tracks a very nice and the sled handles them more realistically than any other snowmobile game and i've played them all. If you have a PC then this is a must have game, I mean what the heck even if you don't like it your only throwing away $3. But if you like racing games then you should have a blast with WhiteOut!
