Product Description

Whiteside Machine Company has been in the router bit business for over 30 years providing customer with quality products while at the same time striving to achieve complete customer satisfaction. Several woodworking magazines have tested Whiteside versus the competition and selected Whiteside as the winner for best router bits available in the market. Whiteside Machine Company was founded in 1970 as a general purpose machine shop in the basement of Bill & Bobbie Whiteside's home. Located in Western North Carolina near the furniture manufacturing town of Hickory, the company was often involved in making repairs or special parts for the furniture and woodworking field. A strong commitment to customer problem-solving, a can-do attitude, and innovative ideas, along with a growing core of dedicated employees, helped the business evolve into a manufacturer of woodworking equipment and tooling. Primarily through repeat business and referrals, the tooling business continued to grow to meet a demand for quality production router bits as well as custom application tooling. Today, Whiteside Machine occupies a 40,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and produces a complete line of solid carbide and carbide tipped router bits. Whiteside's quality, innovation, and customer commitment is still present in our superb product line, in the design of custom tooling to fill special customer requirements, and in the development of special machinery and tooling for our own manufacturing use. As always, Whiteside Machine is continuously striving to improve our product through new technology, improved production techniques, and ongoing research and development efforts; along with rigid quality control, vital customer feedback and extensive field testing. Whiteside Machine Company. Made in America. Family owned and operated. Committed to Quality. Come on - give us a try

These bits provide a tight fit for all three plywood thicknesses.

As you know, fractional plywood, such as 3/4", is actually a little thinner than 3/4" and a 3/4" straight bit would leave a dado a little wide and sloppy.
Joseph M. Cone
It holds a sharp edge longer than most and is well balanced, when used with a quality collet it is dead on accurate.

I consider myself a beginner in woodworking and many times start projects with some hesitation. I bought a Bosch router a while back and finally bought this set of bits. After reading instructions, for the router I began work on a bookshelf. These bits created some really smooth dadoes on oak plywood. I just had to do one pass for each dado. Pieces fit so nicely together. It was a true pleasure to work with these bits and see my project some together so quickly and accurately. Worth every bit of the investment (no pun intended). If you do work with plywood and want nice fitting joints, this bit set is the way to go.

These bits provide a tight fit for all three plywood thicknesses. The fit was so tight that I needed to move the router fence a few thousandths on a second pass so that I wouldn't have a problem during assembly. Dados are very clean with very little tear-out.

I used these undersize bits so that I could get a good fit with shelving made from plywood. As you know, fractional plywood, such as 3/4", is actually a little thinner than 3/4" and a 3/4" straight bit would leave a dado a little wide and sloppy. These bits allow a nice tight fit.

I own several Whiteside bits and have yet to have an issue with any of them. These plywood bits were no exception. Whiteside is always my first choice.

I have tried many different manufactures over the years: Freud, Amana, Bosch .. and cheapies like sears. While some of the better names do make very good bits, I found the Whiteside superior. Right out of the box they are very sharp, excellent quality carbide (and excellent overall quality), stay sharper longer, no chatter and burn marks are very rare. Also unlike some bits the marking (on the ½ inch shanks is easy to read). If they get mixed up (happens to me all the time despite my organized storage system) it is very easy to see which is the ¾ vs. 23/32 straight bit. It is marked with the PN so you do need to look it up. The may be a little more expensive but it is definitely worth it. If you haven't tried Whiteside I encourage you to try them and put it through its paces. You might not notice a difference against one of the better brands, but over time I bet you too will be hooked.

So far, I have only tried the bit for 3/4" plywood, but I have been very impressed. The cut was precise and the fit was excellent. I can only expect the same from the two other bits.

Excellent quality and a must have for making grooves for plywood. Not disappointed at all. Also come in a nice case.
