1.0 out of 5 stars Are you serious?
To be honest I have not listened to the remaster of this album. I am sure it will be top notch. But the fact that the Extra DVD features only videoclips and live renditions already included on a previously released DVD which, in turn, belongs to a recent tour and not the actual "1987" tour, is a bit of a disappointment. In this kind of reissues you would expect something...

Its about time this great CD has come out remastered and in deluxe edition. It really is a shame that THAT lineup didnt keep going.I mean John Sykes is a KILLER guitarist and very under rated. Not to mention Ansley Dunbar on drums.By the time this CD caught on and really took off and became a monster hit, we see this big hair metal band and two guitarist trying to take Sykes place. I heard that getting Sykes and Coverdale back together would have been a big coup for John Kolodner, but sadly its never happened.I dont see it happening, because God love 'em, they both have big egos.I have several of Sykes' Cds, that you can seem to only be able to pick up as imports, and he plays alot of this Cd in his shows. If you have never listened to or purchaced this CD back in the day, than this would be the perfect time to get it in this deluxe edition....CRANK IT!!!

In this kind of reissues you would expect something from the same era of the album, just like what Def Leppard did in the Deluxe Edition of "Pyromania", and the extra CD with the entire live show of 1983 in LA off the "Pyromania" tour.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just amazing., April 20, 2010
This review is from: Whitesnake (Audio CD)
The sound on this remaster is the best i have ever heard, and i thought the remastered slide and slip were good, the extras are quite sensational too, with bonus tracks,b-sides and a dvd!
The dvd takes you back to those large hair days of the 80s,but lets not remember this album for that, because the songs stand up so well,as the dvd shows the current line up preforming them.
I love the current line up,but it sure would be interesting to see,as time is a great healer, what Mr Coverdale and Mr Sykes could come up with today.
Once again, the price looks steep, but you would pay 12 dollars at least for the dvd alone, and the packaging overall is quite, quite beautiful, and you have an amazing album as well.
what are you waiting for? Go an get it!
