5.0 out of 5 stars Great but must know where to place the poles!!!!
This hamper is absolutely great! I read the previous review right after I purchased it and almost returned it. That was before I opened it and quickly discovered the previous reviewer must have asembled it wrong. There is a slit behind the velcro where the poles go. It comes with 4 poles, one for each corner. If you're not careful, you will place only the tip of the poles...

2.0 out of 5 stars The hamper keeps collapsing
I read the reviews and one of them stated that the rods or poles that hold the hamper up keep poking up and so the hamper keeps collapsing, another customer said to stick the poles under the metal, but I have tried to do that and have been unable to get them in a position where they will stay. It is a good size for my mother-in-laws closet, but it just keeps collapsing...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great but must know where to place the poles!!!!, July 20, 2009
This hamper is absolutely great! I read the previous review right after I purchased it and almost returned it. That was before I opened it and quickly discovered the previous reviewer must have asembled it wrong. There is a slit behind the velcro where the poles go. It comes with 4 poles, one for each corner. If you're not careful, you will place only the tip of the poles behind the velcro. This is incorrect and will not hold the hamper together. The slit behind the velcro is where the poles go. This allows the poles to be completely concealed. So, the rule is, if you can see the black poles, take them out and carefully stimulate the perforation. Hope this review helps.

4.0 out of 5 stars Needs a diagram or instructions, March 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Even after reading the five-star review when I made the purchase, I assembled the hamper incorrectly on my first attempt. If you look inside the hamper, you can see the "latte" colored pole sleeves running down the four corners. The opening of the sleeves are behind the velcro straps at the top. If there were even a simple diagram pointing out the sleeves, I would give this five stars. It fits the bill in every other aspect.

I read the reviews and one of them stated that the rods or poles that hold the hamper up keep poking up and so the hamper keeps collapsing, another customer said to stick the poles under the metal, but I have tried to do that and have been unable to get them in a position where they will stay. It is a good size for my mother-in-laws closet, but it just keeps collapsing and drives me crazy. I like the sturdy material, the size and shape, I wish it would stay up. I hope the second customer was right and can tell me how to get the poles to stay in place.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Hamper for the price, February 22, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is one of those products where it is worth reading multiple reviews first. I agree that the hamper should come with either written or a diagram of how to put it together. It is easy to miss the fabric sleeves the poles slip into. As another reviewer said, if you have ever put up a tent, this should be no problem, but it would help to have directions.

That being said, I love these hampers. My husband and I like to keep our laundry separate due to allergies (I like the pretty smelling fabric softeners :-) ), and this is the easiest way to do that without taking up the entire closet. As I will be using these only as a hamper, and will use a basket to actually carry the clothes to the laundry, I wish they could hold a little more / were a little taller. Great buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little hamper for the price, February 18, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was looking for a hamper to keep in my small laundry room off our kitchen, I just wanted something to toss dirty kitchen towels or the random socks my kids would leave behind. I've had it for 6 months and this hamper has been great, I've had no problems with the quality or durability. I'm not sure why other people have had issues, though I will say this hamper is probably not the toughest or sturdiest you could buy- I wouldn't use it for a young child's room. Overall though for the price it's a cute little laundry catchall.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy and convenient with one flaw, February 13, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great weight, shape, easy to assemble, and light so will travel well! The only downside is that the four poles that are held in place with velcro flaps. . . well, the poles are stronger than the flaps and are forever poking out, needing to be put back in so the thing stands up straight. If they could fix that flaw, all would be awesome!

Even so, good for the price :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good with some modifications, January 28, 2012

After reading many comments about this hamper collapsing, I was nervous to order it. But I figured, if it doesn't work I can send it back. A lot of the reviewers are correct that the tent poles fall out of place easily (on the bottom) and the hamper collapses. I thoroughly looked for any loops or grooves or something to put the bottom tent pole into to hold it in place, but there was absolutely, positively nothing. There is a velcro piece for the top of the tent pole, but nothing for the bottom.

FIX: about and 1-1/2 to 2-inches from the inside-bottom, I cut a horizontal slit in the fabric piece that runs up & down the height of the bag. Note the slit DID NOT go through the bag fabric itself, only that 1-inch wide fabric piece that runs along the inside. With that slit, I was able to insert the bottom of the tent pole in between the two pieces of fabric which got it to stay in place, plus the use of the top velcro piece for the top of the tent pole.

This is something that shouldn't have to be done, the manufacturer should have had something already in place, hence a 4-star rating. Otherwise, this hamper seems pretty good after only a few days of use; it's light-weight and serves its purpose.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not keep shape, January 12, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Our hamper is assembled correctly however it is of poor quality and design. The cheap poles do not remain in place. Therefore the hamper continues to lose its shape. I would highly recommend purchasing a hamper that you will not want to throw out a window, unlike this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice!, December 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This hamper was just what I was looking for. I do want you to know that mine had a small stain on the front, I can't hide it since its on the front and I could not get the stain out. Other than that I am very pleased with it. Thank you
