Product Description

Card Holder, from Whizilent Innovations, helps you to organize various rewards cards, club membership cards, and keychain tags in your Android smartphone. You can simply scan the cards with your smartphone at most locations, which allows you to "carry" the cards with you wherever you go in your smartphone instead of in your wallet or key chain.

You can capture your cards in one of the following three ways:
* Using the camera as a barcode scanner to read the card, and then to create the card
* Using the camera to capture the card image, and then to create the card
* Manually enter the card information. Card Holder will generate the barcode and card for you

You can also use this app to perform the following activities with the selected cards:
* Find the nearest store or location
* Get the store's contact information
* Call the nearest store or location

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Loyalty Card storage I've tried September 29, 2012

All apps that display a barcode Share the same limitation of being able to display the barcode with sufficient contrast, limited extraneous reflection, and the scanner itself in order for the merchant to scan the phone succesfully. I used to use Cardstar, but it doesn't always display barcodes in the correct format, especially if it doesn't recognize the merchant. Card Holder eliminates that issue by scanning the barcode directly off the card. So it's faster to enter the numbers, and not make mistakes. Many cards have numbers that are needed to create the barcode correctly, but are not displayed; so apps that rely on manual entry also have this limitation. Again, Card Holder does not have the problem.

When typing in the merchant, suggestions come up, and there are more than offered by Cardstar (Such as my very regional grocery store). Since it scans the barcode, you can enter cards not in the database. It also has a notes section to manually enter any additional data (like a membership number, if different than the card number), and has the ability to store a picture of the front and back of the card. Focus is not very good for the photos for some reason. This is my only complaint.

Another feature, if you choose the merchant that pops up when entering the card, is the ability to find locations for that merchant nearby. Selecting this option not only pops up a map and address (via Google Maps, which you can then use to navigate), it also provides a link to the merchant's web site. Clicking the Contact icon provides the address, phone number, and buttons for a map or to dial the store (I'm using Best Buy as an example here).

To get all this, all you have to do is enter the card. The process is so easy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work July 26, 2012

It's easy to scan the cards in and they already have images for the bigger stores. The only problem is that the scanner cannot read the bar code off the phone screen. It's not an issue of image clarity or contrast. The phone screen just doesn't reflect the scanner's laser the same way that a barcode on paper does.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great App! March 18, 2014

Ease of use 5 stars!! It was easy to figure out and just as easy to use. If the company is recognized it automatically puts up there logo for you to easily find to use it in that store. Although I just noticed that some of the logo's have since disappeared, but it is clear and easy to read, so should not be a problem.

I have only tried it at one store at this time, but it worked great! bar code is easily read by the machines. I have now added all of my cards into the app, looking forward to carrying less clutter on my key ring!

I have been looking around for other apps for this need, but they all have a cost associated with them, I totally dislike purchasing an app and then not having it work. So the best part of the purchase, this app is FREE!

The scanner works great and organizes the cards. So far I've tried it at Lowes Foods, Petsmart, Food Lion and my local library and not one scanner could read it.
