Enlightening,

I think that book realistically expresses life's challenges in a way that even a child could understand. It was a reality check as well as a motivational piece. I have not stopped talking about making lemonade ever since I read the book.

I met Josh Shaw while we were competing on The Apprentice. He is one of the smartest businessmen I have ever met. However, I must say.....a huge suprise was his philanthropic side! Autism speaks is a great cause and by purchasing a great book, you are supporting children who need your help. Again, not only is this book one of the best short reads in business today, it truly benefits a wonderful organiation that we helped on the show. When reading a business book, if you can take away one great topic and put it to use, the book was well worth your time. This book gives you an example of one of the best topics in business. You can be a victim or a victor, you can't be both....You can become bitter or choose to be better...again, you can't be both. This book explores this topic in depth and does so in an easy to read manner with great metaphors. Great Read and Shaw captures the true essence of positive thinking.

As a business owner I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I connected with it not only professionally but personally as well. I am making it mandatory reading for several of my employees as I think it will really get them in the right state of mind. My husband also read it and found that he could relate to it and use the motivation in his own business as well. This is just want I needed to refocus.

When life deals you lemons, make lemonade. It's a mindset that should be utilized by all. The meaning behind the story will hit home for everyone.
The story is a tale that anyone can enjoy. Parents can read it to their kids to help teach them to make the best out of a situation, business executives can use the book to help focus on finding a solution, etc. We've all been there, looking to make the best of a situation that's not all that great, and finding a way to spin it positive. If you're looking for inspiration/motivation, then look no further. A quick read (probably under an hour), and well worth every penny.

The Power,
This review is from: Who Invented Lemonade?: The Power of Positive Perspective (Paperback)
After this easy read, I was able to put a bit more of the daily confrontations challenging me in a much more tolerant tone. Life is too short and the "powers" that are presented help achieve a better acceptance of the things tossed at us.

A friend actually recommended this book to me and lent me their copy. It was great and I wound up getting my own! A phenomenally quick read, it still instills a true sense of hope not only in yourself but in people in general. This is a very welcome feeling in some very trying times. I appreciated the simplicity of the sentiment and the power of the message, and would recommend it to anyone of any age.

A Refreshing Perspective on Lemonade!,
By Vanessa Hannas "V" (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Who Invented Lemonade?: The Power of Positive Perspective (Paperback)
I came across this book entirely by accident. I was doing a google search on the meaning behind the phrase "turning lemons into lemonade", and one of the first links I click on led me to this book. It was probably no accident, after all. The authors sounded smart and credible, and the title intrigued me. Who did invent lemonade, I wondered? So I bought it. I have to say I was pleasantly suprised! It was a very quick, powerful read. It's the story of a young prince named Billy who basically thinks "outside the box". Because he is not yet weighed down by adulthood and all of the rigid patterns of thinking and behavior that tend to come with age, he is able to see things in a way that others don't. My take on it is that, it's not that others miss what is there and he sees it, it is that he actually looks at what is in front of him, and more importantly, looks at it without a preconceived notion or an already formulated judgment. I think it's a great book and would recommend it to anyone who finds themselves stuck in their usual ways of thinking. This book will lift your spirits and motivate you to see your life and the people in your life toally differently!!
