5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Two House Teaching
This book is by far the most comprehensive and easy to read publication concerning the restoration of the Two Houses of Israel. The author's ability to share this profound biblical truth in a simple straightforward manner is phenomenal. This book takes truths about the House of Israel and the House of Judah that are so often overlooked and ignored and presents them with...

1.0 out of 5 stars A Subtle Form of Anti-semitism
The premise of this book, that everyone who is saved is really Jewish, is ludicrous at best, and at worst is a particularly shrewd, yet subtle, form of anti-semitism. The author bases her doctrine of the two houses of Israel (Ephraim being the Gentiles, and the other, Judah, being the Jews) on nothing more than the mis-translation of several passages of scripture. 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Two House Teaching, August 17, 2001
This review is from: Who Is Israel? (Enlarged Edition) (Paperback)
This book is by far the most comprehensive and easy to read publication concerning the restoration of the Two Houses of Israel. The author's ability to share this profound biblical truth in a simple straightforward manner is phenomenal. This book takes truths about the House of Israel and the House of Judah that are so often overlooked and ignored and presents them with an openness that is not found very often. The explanation of the prophets concerning the Two Houses will challenge the most scholarly. The manner in which the author defines Who Is Israel reduces many sacred doctrinal cows to ashes. Have your Bible ready while reading this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book I've ever read except for the Bible!, November 1, 2001
This review is from: Who Is Israel? (Enlarged Edition) (Paperback)
This is a must read book for all Christians and Jews. My wife and I have been involved in ministry for several years and have never had the Old Testament be so understandable until we grasped the concepts put forth in this book. It is very scriptural and accurate contrary to what some would like you to believe. It is not anti-semitic as some would suggest. Just the opposite. Those who bash the book I believe have either not read the whole book or have a hidden agenda of their own. Read it for yourself and let the Spirit of the Lord lead you into Truth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even if you don't agree, it's a very interesting read!, February 13, 2011

This review is from: Who Is Israel? (Enlarged Edition) (Paperback)
I'm not convinced if I agree with this ideology or not, however, this is a VERY interesting read none the less. This book offers insights that aren't offered elsewhere and I feel it will add insight to your reading of the Scriptures regardless of whether you agree with the author or not. In all honesty, I'm leaning toward NOT agreeing with her stance, however I would recommend this book for all those who love Scripture & love to find out as much as they can about it's truths. Again, I do recommend the book. Ultimately, it's a GOOD READ. period.

5.0 out of 5 stars To Be or Not To Be, August 26, 2001
This review is from: Who Is Israel? (Enlarged Edition) (Paperback)
Either you're Israel, or you're not! God has one "called out assembly" from the giving of the Torah, to the giving of the reNewed Covenant. Batya Wootten does an outstanding job of showing the Father's heart by identifying Israel and clearly stating their role in God's end time plan. You'll never look at Scripture the same! The Bible becomes a new book.. understandable and personal. Read this book to finally learn who you are, and how you fit into God's end time plan of restoration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Let Fear!, November 7, 2001
By
Alfonso Lopez (Bear, DE United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Who Is Israel? (Enlarged Edition) (Paperback)
Do not let fear of those who oppose truth be your guide in deciding wether to read this book or not. Indeed, there are two houses of Israel: Ephraim & Judah, and anyone who attacks this truth is not attacking the author (Mrs. Wotten) but attacking Yahwe's word. As a Jew, nothing makes me happier than to realize that the promises of millions and millions of descendants made by Yahweh to our father Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are true. The two houses of Israel are not yet re-united despite the claims of MJAA. nor are there two groups of elect as Christiand and Messianic dispensationalists want us to belief. Only Yeshua can unite them and make them one just as He and the Father is One. This book "Who is Israel" is a "heart opener" if your heart is open for the truth of Mighty Yahweh, rather than doctrines of men. Those who attack this book do it out of fear of being "replaced" yet there is nothing in this book that will even hint replacement theology. (...)

5.0 out of 5 stars Be ready to have your eyes opened! Excellent!, November 4, 2001
By
Victoria Regnier (Aurora, CO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Who Is Israel? (Enlarged Edition) (Paperback)
I read this book two years ago. I have heard ALL the pros and cons dealing with it. I can tell you that the problems accepting this book, and the scripture that FULLY supports it, comes from two stand points. The first is Replacement Theology and the second is the threat to those who feel anyone is taking away their national identilty of "Israel". It's no wonder that such a book would create such a stir because who Israel is brings on many promises and blessings, but it also brings stern warnings, for the house of YHWH will be judged first. Between these two extreems is the most acceptable and loving balance given by our creator. YHWH has always been full of grace towards His people and those of Israel have ALWAYS been ANY who would call on His name and enter into His community desiring to live in according to His righteousness. Difficult scriptures are explained and a smooth and scholarly flow is followed from Genisis to Revelations. If, like me, you ever wondered why YHWH (supposedly) changed His mind, and had a different set of expectations for one generation than for another and struggle with theology that doesnt quite reconcile the "god" of the Old Testament with that of the New, this book will be the beginning of an incridible journey back to an intimate relationship with your creator and a glimpse of His awesome plan for ALL mankind. Those who mistake this work for British Israelism greatly misunderstand the focus of the book or are threatened by the work. As with what has happened throughout history in the pupits, don't let anyone tell you if something is for you or not, if it's scriptural or not. Get it, read it, research it with and open heart and mind, pray for truth and decide yourself. Bon Voyage!!

1.0 out of 5 stars A Subtle Form of Anti-semitism, November 26, 2001
By
This review is from: Who Is Israel? (Enlarged Edition) (Paperback)
The believer must question the details of Mrs. Wooten's education in the Hebrew language before blindly accepting a belief system based on such blatently erroneous translation. The concept set forth in the book, that every believer is physical Israel, is also insidiously anti-semitic because it's an especially crafty type of Replacement Theology. This is, quite frankly, a book that cannot be taken seriously.

1.0 out of 5 stars Serious mishandling of Scripture, November 5, 2001
This review is from: Who Is Israel? (Enlarged Edition) (Paperback)
This book definitely would speak to those who are searching for deeper understanding of their place in the body of Messiah. Unfortunately, it is based in taking verses out of context, using them to support an idea that is not founded in the whole of scripture. We would do much better to focus on embracing our right, both as Jews and non-Jews, to live the truths found in the Torah.

As a Gentile myself, I want to embrace the truth that God loved me enough to *adopt* me and graft me to the Jewish people. Just as in the Tenach, foreigners who lived with and identified with Israel were embraced and treated a fellow Israelites, so am I accepted. However, this does not make me a part of physical Israel! My identity with Israel is only through the redemptive work of the Messiah. To say that we must have a physical connection with Israel to be part of the family is to say that every adopted child has no validity.

This pursuit of physical connection robs a non-Jewish believer of the beautiful fact that God chose us *despite* the fact that we were not part of physical Israel, and He has lavished all His blessing (including His Torah) upon us *even though we don't deserve them!*

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Handbook for those beginning to return, December 21, 2001
By
Rocky Cooper (Yukon, Oklahoma USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Who Is Israel? (Enlarged Edition) (Paperback)
I have read the book and the reviews. I do not ever before recall reading such vicious attacks upon a work as those against this book. This alone should make the book worth reading.

The book itself is written well and leads to conclusions that can only be verified by the Rauch HaKodesh (Holy Spirit). Full understanding of this subject can only be given by revelation through the Rauch HaKodesh.

As the book says and implies, it is a time of great change, a time of increasing knowledge and a time of awakening. The book presents for consideration an alternative to conventional and traditional thinking. Having been steeped in what we have been told to be true, all our lives, it is sometimes difficult to open our eyes and hearts and minds to grasp a deeper meaning and truth. This book offers understanding and hope coupled with revelation. It was the beginning of greater understanding for me and my household.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Words Mean Things!", November 4, 2001
By
Judy F. Brown (Oklahoma City, OK, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Who Is Israel? (Enlarged Edition) (Paperback)
Batya Wootten defines terms very distinctly in her brilliant book, "Who is Israel". Understanding the identity of "Judah," "Ephraim," and "Israel" is vital for people who are interested in "breaking the code" of God's message in these last days. Most Christians have mistakenly lumped everything related to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as being "Jewish".

Batya makes clear the distinction that Abraham was a Hebrew, not a Jew. Isaac was a Hebrew, not a Jew. Jacob was a Hebrew, not a Jew; but he became the first Israelite when his name was changed from Jacob to Israel. Jacob had 12 sons, but only one of them was a Jew. . .Judah.

Three kings reigned over a united Israel: Saul of the tribe of Benjamin. David and Solomon were of the tribe of Judah. However, God divided the kingdom leaving Solomon's son, Rehoboam, with only the tribe of Judah (and the Levites who served Judah). This became the Southern Kingdom of Judah.

God gave the other ten tribes to Jeroboam of Ephraim. This became the Northern Kingdom of Israel. The Northern Kingdom also became known as Ephraim.

Jeroboam, the Ephraimite, sincerely admired the ways of the Gentiles. The Northern Kingdom of Israel, was led by Jeroboam to change the LOCATION OF WORSHIP, THE DAYS OF WORSHIP, AND THE SUBSTANCE OF WORSHIP. Finally God gave Israel the opportunity to "get their fill of the Gentiles" when they were exiled to Assyria in 722BC.

The Southern Kingdom of Judah was exiled to Babylon 135 years later. However, after 70 years, Cyrus, King of Persia permitted Judah (the Jews) to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple.

This set the stage for Jesus (Yeshua) to be born in Bethlehem, circumcised in the Temple on the eighth day, then amazed the rabbis in the Temple with his wisdom when only a twelve year old boy. Remember, only Judah was in the land of Israel when Jesus (Yeshua) ministered. Yet He said that He came but for the "Lost Sheep of the House of Israel".

"Who is Israel" is a "Must Read" for every serious Christian!
