I Won't Be Silent Anymore, March 16, 2010
This review is from: Who I've Become is NOT Who I Am (Paperback)
Are you the one sitting in the pew on Sunday morning with your best face on, a smile that never reaches your eyes, and dressed in the best money can buy? Yet you are hurting and empty, and the life that has truly become yours remains hidden under all that can be seen on the outside while you suffer behind the mask you put on before you leave the house so no one can see how much you are hurting. Or the shambles your life has become because of the past that you have never come to terms with. However, you know that the time has come for you to take off the mask that you have kept in place as a mechanism to keep out anymore hurt, only you operate in the very hurt and dysfunction that caused you to wear a mask in the first place. In Author Sonya Visor's novel, Who I've Become is NOT Who I Am, she shares with readers her road to deliverance to become the woman God has called her to be.
Author Visor tells her story of molestation that she and her sister endured at the hands of relatives, both opting to keep quiet so no one would get into trouble; however, their silence protected the very persons who violated them. These acts took away their innocence and would change their lives for years to come. The pain and dysfunction that became her life caused her to put on a mask so that no one would know the hurt, guilt, shame and hopelessness these acts caused to live in her spirit, altering who she was and keeping her from becoming who God called her to be.
Who I've Become is NOT Who I Am is a book that will help anyone on their journey to becoming whole in God by first finding or acknowledging the root of the problem. How important is it to talk about the problem; friends and relatives can be a help, but sharing with God, the One Who created us and knows all and can fix all.
I enjoyed this book and received a true blessing from its contents because I have come to understand that although Author Visor talks about her experience and her journey to becoming who God has called her to be, it is not just the subject matter she has shared. The book is written in such a way that I truly understand that it addresses whatever the root problem may be so that we can go to God, fasting, praying and believing that He will meet us where we are and bring about the deliverance that is needed in our lives so that we can find ourselves in the place He will have us to be. We must remove the masks that we hide behind and lie bare before our Lord and allow Him to heal us and set us free. I recommend this book to any and everyone desiring to remove the mask and really live the life they have been called to live.

Bravo!, May 13, 2010
This review is from: Who I've Become is NOT Who I Am (Paperback)
I applaud you women of God for sharing with the world your struggles, fears and childhood issues. Your book attacks real conditions that not only individuals have masked but so has the body of Christ at large. Your book gives the enemy a black eye. When we are transparent about our sins there is nothing that the enemey can hold against us. Bravo!
