5.0 out of 5 stars 10 songs and almost a perfect 10.
KeKe Wyatt is back with her official sophmore effort. I must admit, I never bought her first effort even though I thoroughly enjoy her voice, but this time I made sure to buy. KeKe is singing pure R&B. What I mean by that is she is singing the kind of R&B that radio isn't playing anymore. Pure singing with no solo spots on the record. Nice slow jams and midtempo...

3.0 out of 5 stars Who Knew - 3.5 stars
As someone who really did not enjoy Keke's debut, I wanted to give this set a try out of curiosity because although I think she has a beautiful voice, the material on her debut just didn't resonate with me in a positive way.

Overall it's a good step up in my opinion and instead of trying to keep up with other r&b divas who have churned out synth driven music...

Nice slow jams and midtempo numbers. KeKe can really sing and what is nice about this effort is that she isn't chasing the trends in music. That is very evident upon first listen. She tears into a song like no other as evident on a couple of numbers. The only misstep is track number 9. It doesn't fit in with the whole vibe of the record and in my opinion is very typical of radio today. If it weren't for that I'd give this a perfect 10. For the sake of this review I give it a 4.5.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good album., March 7, 2010
This review is from: Who Knew? (MP3 Download)
I didn't buy her first album Soul Sista, but I heard the song If Only You Knew on it and I thought she was amazing on that song. So I decided to buy her new one Who Knew, and it's pretty good. My only complaint is that I think she overdoes the runs a little bit. A little overboard to me with all that oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lol if you know what I mean. Other than that the album is really nice, pure R&B like someone mentioned in their review, not that pop tart crap they play today. Favorites on the album are: Never Do It Again, Without You, and Peace On Earth. I would recommend this album to everyone, you won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend this CD. Keke is one of the few R&B singers with real talent. You can definitely play this CD straight through because each track sounds great. I'm so glad she's back!

As someone who really did not enjoy Keke's debut, I wanted to give this set a try out of curiosity because although I think she has a beautiful voice, the material on her debut just didn't resonate with me in a positive way.

Overall it's a good step up in my opinion and instead of trying to keep up with other r&b divas who have churned out synth driven music over this last year, Keke stayed firmly in the soul/r&b lane with good production & heartfelt lyrics and I appreciate the effort.

This is a relatively short album to listen to clocking in at just over 45 mins and the most memorable tracks to me are:

WITHOUT YOU - a heartfelt ballad

PEACE ON EARTH - another vocal home run performance and heartfelt lyrics

NEVER DO IT AGAIN - she sounds like Tamia a little on this track

GETTING IT - harder sounding, darker beats mixed with her airy vocals, it's a fun track on which she brags about getting material things

DAYDREAMING, SO CONFUSED & WEAKEST

I commend Keke's effort to stay in the music biz (especially in the r&b field) and love the fact that she stood on her own as a singer and didn't use too much hip hop or rappers to keep up with other singers.

I bought this CD on recommendation by Amazon. I don't remember listening to samples so it was some kind of gamble. Best gamble i have taken in a long while because this is a fantastic CD. If you like Heather Headley, Keyshia Cole or Brandy you will love this. Buy yours today!

I was pleasantly suprised at her cd. It reminds me of that good 90's r&b that i grew up on. Her voice is unique, sweet, and effortless. She doesn't sound like anyone singing right now and i hope she gets some push from her label. This is classic R&B at it's finest not watered down and not bubble gum with a little wayne or nicki minaj cameo.

Standout songs are

Weakest

DayDreaming

Never Do it again.

I'm in love with this CD! It reminds me of real R&B from back in the 90's, reminiscent of Faith Evans, Kelly Price, SWV, Brownstone, and Xscape. It's a breath of fresh air compared to what's out there now. I love how she sings, ad libs and kills vocally to the end of each track as it fades out. Definitely get this album!!! Every song is great with the exception of "Getting It" which is track 9. I don't know what her producers were thinking with this whackness, it doesn't fit the vibe of the record at all. Fortunately the other 9 tracks far outshine this one.
