5.0 out of 5 stars An Epic of Awakening, January 7, 2008
This review is from: He Who Saw Everything --1991 publication. (Hardcover)
When first I checked a copy of this purple book from the library and went home to read, I could not put the book down until it was finished! Temple's translation conveys a realism to the story that is both remarkable and commendable. The fact that events and turmoil that Enkido endures strike an inner cord in many of us places this Epic on a scale beyond place and time. Read it and read it again. In our post-technology era, as we thirst for a spiritual experience, it comes as a reassurance that what humans have felt, experienced and communicated thousands of years and miles away still is as familiar and comforting to us today as our daily surroundings.
