1.0 out of 5 stars mini means half the story
I had the original book from the library and we had fun reading it. I decided to buy a copy for christmas and saw the "mini" version. I thought "mini" meant smaller, but it really means half the story. The full version starts with 10 cookies, this "mini" version, starts at 5.

I was very disappointed and returned the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun book, October 10, 2005
This review is from: Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar (Hardcover)
My 2-1/2 year old spotted this book at our local bookstore, and was immediately drawn to the cookies. She loved the textured cookies that disappear one by one as you read thru the book. The text is longer than I story I read as a child, but can easily be condensed to fit the child's age or patience level. The pages are study cardboard and will withstand a less-than-gentle child. Cute story, bright illustrations, and of course the cookies! This is one of our favorite nightime books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for the whole family, May 22, 2006
This review is from: Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar (Hardcover)
This book is loved by our whole family. The illustrations are clever and delightful, while the repeating rhyme is catchy, yet not annoying. My six year old enjoys reading the book to us and my 18 month old loves looking at the pictures and pressing the "cookies" as though they are buttons. Most importantly, the book ends on a high note about sharing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for toddlers and preschoolers!, September 8, 2005
This review is from: Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar (Hardcover)
I remember playing the "who stole the cookie jar" game as a kid and so the title caught my eye. The rhythm of the book is great and the rhymes and catchy and fun to read. Plus the countable cookies at the bottom of each page make it even more appealing. Its just an overall fun book that your kids will want to read over and over and you won't mind because its enjoyable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice version of the classic rhyme, November 23, 2010
This review is from: Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar (Hardcover)
I teach young children and I really like this version of the traditional rhyme. Children are familiar with the basic rhythmic chant and enjoy repeating it. The pop-up cookies make it fun for children to look at and easy for them to count. (I count on every page.) They make the animal sounds as the story goes along. The ending, where everybody shares the last cookie, is nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, September 19, 2006

This review is from: Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar (Hardcover)
My daughter, 20 months, picked this book out herself at the bookstore. She loves counting the cookies (well, she loves when I count the cookies). She also loves saying the names of the different animals who "stole the cookie". The illustrations are easy for her to follow and on the last page, when everyone has to share the cookie, she loves pointing at each of the animals and saying who they are. We read this book first thing in the morning, last thing at night and sometimes multiple times in the middle. It's been 3 weeks of this and I'm not even tired of it yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for my baby girl, May 14, 2010

I originally only knew this story/song in French! Now my baby can also learn it in English. She's only 3 months, but she enjoys us reading it in a sing-song way and doing sound effects for the animals. It's short enough to keep her attention and let us finish this one. Very cute!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is my son's favorite book., October 11, 2008
My son came to us from Vietnam six months ago. He loves this book and has learned to count from one to ten, name several different animals, and identify mom and dad, sister and brother because of it. He loves to read along and say some of the phrases with us. My husband and I even enjoy reading it to him because we can use different voices for the various suspects. I am giving it to other children that we know because it is such a fun book with great illustrations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended!, April 10, 2007
This review is from: Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar (Hardcover)
A friend of mine had this book, and it looked so darling, I just had to hunt down a copy! It's a cute story, and even one that you don't mind reading repeatedly, and my 10 month old daughter even loves to turn to pages and feel the little cookies! This is one book I am looking forward to reading with her for a long time, as she learns to understand the story and count the cookies!
