Finding the path to spiritual happiness...

Editorial Reviews

Review

This book not only defines where you are in the evolution of your being, it tells how each developmental stage affects your personal growth and progress on a spiritual path. --From the Publisher

From the Back Cover

Bhagwan is outspoken and more critical than most teachers of the superstitious belief systems that are almost always wrongly associated with genuine spiritual traditions, especially within the Afrikan-American community. This, coupled with his unwillingness to compromise in matters of the heart and intellect, has resulted in an original expression of a complete teaching that embraces both practical and spiritual life in a way that calls any who would "hear" his teachings to seriously "consider" the true meaning of their life and the true purpose of their existence.

Those who have "heard" and been touched by Bhagwan's teachings have found themselves immersed in a profound recognition of their own true nature and propelled into a thrilling discovery of what it really means to reach Self- and God-realization and to finally discover . . . "Who Am I?" --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars A detailed description of the phases of ego evolution., July 21, 1999
By A Customer
This book begins with an exhortation from the author to begin the painful but necessary journey to "know thyself," in the real sense of the word. It then gives a brief summary of the way it all began, as well as a detailed analysis of the specific characteristics of each stage in the development of ego--psychologically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. This is a DEEP book! My favorite sections are when Bhagwan Ra Afrika speaks of the "witnessing self" and the "soul-centric" stage. This book will challenge one to rethink all preconceived notions about what ego is and consider in an entirely different manner one's own level of development, psychologically as well as spiritually. This book is for serious seekers of truth about themselves in particular, as well as existence, in general. There is so much misinformation about the ego and this book does much to dispel some of the myths. An invaluable reference tool, for laypersons as well as those in the mental health field. I personally know of two mental health practitioners who read it and were so impresssed that they recommended it to me! I have read it twice and plan on reading it again and again until I "get it!"

5.0 out of 5 stars This book answers the ultimate question of life!, September 21, 1999
By A Customer
This is THE book for all sincere seekers of an authentic spiritual path. In it you will find a treasure of knowledge and esoteric wisdom that is beyond measure! Bhagwan Ra Afrika is truly incomparable in his insightful way of giving discourses on the nature of "ego" and the way to be free of its entrapment. It was not until I read this book that I for the first time really grasped the true nature and genesis of "egoity" and the suffering that ensues. "Who AM I?" has always been the ultimate question since time immemoriable. It is a question that if lefted unanswered, would leave all of us with a feeling of having lived a life unfulfilled. This book leaves no "stone unturned" in its manner of answering such a question. It reveals the ONLY way that this question can be answered and is a MUST for all who are in search of "self-knowledge" both,in a conventional sense as well as a "spiritual" sense. I often revisit its contents because it encompasses too much to be absorbed in a single reading. I also do this simply for the "awe" and "majestic" feelings I get from reading a book by someone who is truly enlightened!
