The snow began on a Saturday, a cold brooding day in September 2203. The world's leading scientists, grimly aware of the monstrous new age of ice that would close around Earth and bury the human race, had issued their warnings.

I first read this paperback in 1959 at age 12, and with my limited and incomplete maturity I found it to be a riveting piece of literature. Now, as I have got and re-read the book, I experienced a whole new perception to be "layered" over by my early-on reading. Great re-visiting of Mr. Sterling Noel's classic work !
