4.0 out of 5 stars "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? - The Album", July 28, 2000
By
Monte St. Amant (St. Amant, LA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (Audio CD)
I believe this is the CD which includes the background music from the show itself. I have a copy of it at home and it is terrific! It has 76 tracks which include the "think music" from the show, sound effects for the lifelines, "final answer" win or loss and two tracks of musical renditions of the music used in a full length dance song. You really get the feel of how it's like to be a contestant sitting in the "hot seat" with the music pounding like the rhythm of your pulse. It's a real treat to hear the music for the last five question with stereo headphones. You hear the hammer sound in your left ear and the heartbeat sound in your right ear. If your a die-hard fan of the show, this would be the perfect compliment to the board game for parties or just listening at home on your walkman while dreaming of being a "millionaire". I give it four stars and that's my final answer!

5.0 out of 5 stars "My Final Answer Is...", January 19, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (Audio CD)
I just received the CD today and really listening very carefully to the music. With it, most people are able to hear more details of the score than you do on the actual show. I am very impressed on how the music all blends together in making the show the success it is.

Composed, produced and performed by Kevin Strachan and Matthew Strachan (except for the last two tracks), it is very wonderfully done. The last two tracks, 'Radio Edit' and 'Club Mix', are also beautifully blended together, even putting in the whistle that you hear at the end of the show. I definitely remember our USA host, Regis Philbin, on the first night hosting the show (August, 1999), saying that this music "got on (his) nerves". I have a feeling he has gotten quite used to it, as have millions of fans. Even more surprising is that to this reviewer, the music does not wear you out. The suspense of the show does that on its own! :-)

Regis is a great host, and having UK's own "Millionaire" host, Chris Tarrant, as one of his guests on his daily talk show was quite a treat.

I would not want to be the one to hear Track 61, if I were in the 'hot seat'! Also, included in this set are eight (8) sets of questions that you can play right in your home from the UK version. I was only able to answer one or two of the 100-pound questions. How many could you answer with only three lifelines?

5.0 out of 5 stars The British CD is a much better buy than the American CD., September 12, 2000

Keith Strachan and Matthew Strachan's masterpiece, the "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" soundtrack, is finally available to order from Amazon.com -- and it's worth every cent. This great CD contains 74 surprisingly long tracks from the hit TV show and two remixes of the ever-popular main theme. The only tunes that this CD is missing are the beeps confirming if one answered the first five questions right or wrong, the highlight music, and various tunes playing when the show goes into or comes out of a commercial break. Everything else is there: all the question music, all the lifeline music complete with accompanying effects, the music confirming if one answered a question right or wrong, everything! Because of that, this CD makes the perfect complement to the board game. If you love this show or its music to death, you would be cheating yourself if you do not get this CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" -- The Album!, October 9, 2000

Please! Get this CD! I know, you all want the US version and blah blah blah. Just keep on talking! Come on! The UK version is just as awesome! It has all 74 amazing tracks from the television (or should I say "tellie") show! 2 bonus tracks remixed from the show's Theme. I personally like the lifeline sounds the best, but hey, you're taking advice from a 12 year old. Get this CD. What do you say? Will you get it? You've heard Regis Philbin (or Chris Tarrant) from the show, but now YOU'RE hosting. You call the shots. If anyone makes a mistake as final answer, you can let it go, or use the following "wrong answer" track. With £ currency printed on the track listing, who cares? The sounds are still great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Some of the best game show music ever made, March 28, 2006
By
Giraffe Boy (Southern California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (Audio CD)
This is a must have if you ever want to re-create the experience of this game show in your own home. Question music for all questions are here, plus lifeline music, along with right and wrong answer cues for the last ten questions. About the only things missing are right and wrong answer cues for the first five questions (it does have the milestone music for making it past Question 5). Even music for the "Fastest Finger" qualifying question is included. In addition, there are intro and outro cues (for going into and out of commercial breaks), the "time's up" horn (to end the show) and two dance mixes (track 75, BTW, is what is used at the "WWTBAM - Play It!" studio at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida). A must for any fan of the show, or any fan of game shows in general.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but hard to find, August 9, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (Audio CD)
Great quality - very unusual to have all the real sound tracks to a show on a CD. ABC's version rearranges a few of the pieces, but pretty much all the same.

Great if you can find it.

It me, again, from October 9. I would like to say that this CD is getting better and better each time I listen to it! If you want it by Christmas, act fast, because delivery is not that quick! So get this CD for someone in your family, etc. while you still can! I made a .gif picture to go along with 3 tracks from the CD in order! - Three Beeps; Fastest Finger First; Four Answers In Order.

¼ Best? No Way! ½ Best? No Way! ¾ Best? No Way!

It's the best CD yet to come!
