Who wants to play like this? I don't
on June 28, 2011
If you have played any previous versions of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, then expect this one to throw away anything that worked for you, and prepare for this new timer version. This maybe called this title, but it's more like Hot Seat, only you can't pass on answers to give to someone else.
The first thing you do is choose a name and if you are male or female, but don't expect anything to be customizable to try and resemble you in anyway, then you are allowed into the game, and you start answering questions. I found it to be rather ridicules that this has a 15 second timer to answer the questions for the first 5 questions. Then you get 30 seconds from questions 6 onwards... why I find this to be annoying is EVERY SINGLE question requires you to click "YES" to confirm your answer. Was that really necessary? To click an answer, then click the top of the stylus screen to confirm you really did mean to press that answer? Sometimes this really agitates me, as I click the answer, then look away at the TV or something, only to look back at something saying, "times up"... it was annoying enough when a whole screen came up on previous versions to say "Are you sure..yes/no?" but to do this, in a different way, for every single question?
So, timers, confirmations and a bad avatar system... this game is already looking pretty poor. So how are the questions? They are pretty standard, and I guess I can't really complain about that. So we are now 2 of 5 stars, so can I think of anything good to say about the game? The "play again" option is a nice inclusion, other versions once you where out, you would have to go back to the main menu or whatever and start a new game, at least in this one you get the option to just play again right off the bat and go into a new game quickly. So that should be enough to balance this out and say the game is OK, it's not great, and the lack of options is what brings this game down the most. I would not say this game is very relaxing at all, and it's really for the faster paced fan of the show. Be aware of these features before considering purchasing this game.
