Tut is in Town,

This review is from: Who Was King Tut? (Paperback)
The Tut exhibit is in town this summer and I wanted to be able to provide some information to my seven year old before we went. This book was absolutely the right amount of information for the 7-10 year old age group. We enjoyed it so much that we have purchased additional books in the series and are racing through those as well. I highly recommend the series as a great introduction to biographies!

King Tut,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Who Was King Tut? (Who Was...?) (Kindle Edition)
This book is a very interesting story.I would recommend it for 3rd grade and above. The only thing I did not like about it was it did not have a lot of information on king tut.It mostly just had info on Egypt.Other than that I think it was a wonderful book with great vocabulary. The author really described things very well and made me feel like I was there.I loved the pictures with great detail . If you were doing a history report on king Tut or Egypt this book would come in handy.Thank you for reading my review and I hope you decide to read this book.

Loved it.,

My daughter loved this book. It's informative and relatable to keep a kid interested. She was shocked at some of the facts about King Tut." He was only 9 when he got married, how is that possible?" " They poke a needle up his nose and remove the brain..eww!" What truly made her happy is that in 6th grade, shortly after finishing this book they went over the same subject in history class. She was all smiles when she realized she knew this stuff. Every day she came home telling me what they talked about- that she already knew. It would be ideal to have a child read this book before digging into the textbooks. On a similar note, she also read the one about Anne Frank. With similar results. These books make it easier to grasp the history of a person and the time period in an easy to read format.

I ordered a class set of this book to accompany cross-curricular planning with a team teacher. I teach LA and she Social Stuies. This biography allowed me to go further into the life of King Tut and still focus on our state standards. The kids love it!

My 8-year old had a class project to read a biography, chose 4 objects to represent the person in the biography, and talk about these objects to the class. Since we are Egyptian and own several ancient Egyptian replicas, we thought we'd try this book. We couldn't have been happier! Just the right amount of information for my son's age, presented in a captivating style supported by lots of diagrams. After reading the whole book alone, he asked me to read it again with him "because it is such a nice book" he said! Looking forward to getting the rest of this series!
