I really enjoyed this video. It provides a general overview of the lastest archaeological research being done in the Middle East with regard to the period of the Exodus. There is much more to back up the biblical account of the Jews flight from Egypt than I previously realized. The computer graphics are excellent.

The stated purpose of the makers of the video is to provide evidence that, contrary to the conventional wisdom of the previous one hundered years or so, it's entirely possible that Moses was an actual person, not a folk hero invented centuries later by Israelite priests, and that the events recorded in the biblical book of Exodus are historical, not a folk tale. The video does an excellent job of presenting the latest findings to back up the historicity of Exodus.

I am a Christian. If you know anyone who dismisses the Exodus outright because it's "just a folk tale" and who thinks Moses is a folk hero along the same lines as Beowolf or King Arthur, this is the video for them! I personally found the information from this video useful in convincing a few people that maybe Moses does exist, and maybe the events in the book of Exodus are historical, after all.

One note. Amazon lists this as a Christian video, but the people interviewed are archeologists and historians, not ministers or pastors.

My favorite parts (stop reading if you don't want to be surprised):

The discovery of the Treasure City of Ramses, previously thought to be mythical.

A clear explanation of the mistranslation which led to centuries of belief that the Hebrews crossed the Red Sea.

The corresponding account in Egyptian records of the time which demostrates how ancient Egyptian politcians/priests put their own "spin" on the Exodus!

As noted by others, this is an archaeology program, not a religious or inspirational video. The clear intent of the producers is to present evidence of the existence of the person known as Moses, and to try and explain some of the extraordinary events of his life through natural phenomena.

I did not get the impression that it was trying to challenge anyone's religious beliefs. While it is true that the program offers natural explantions for some of the fantastic stories in the Book of Exodus, it does not state that God or a higher power didn't play a role. That is still up to one's interpretation. Did a volcano eruption have anything to do with the plagues in Egypt? The program says yes. Did God have anything to do with the volcano erupting? That's up to you....

Four stars. The only blemish for me was a professor claiming to know what Moses looked like at the end of the program. After 3000 years, I think that is quite impossible to know!

Science is still catching up to what was written in the canon of Scripture. This video had some very interesting scientific theories, speculation, and Theological correction due to poor translation of Scripture by mere men. Excellent graphics and computer simulation. As a human and a Christian, I quickly figured out that we all have different perspectives and perceptions. Only through study of the Word of God can we properly measure and limit the imagination of our free-will through maturing discernment. We will never know everything about God, so why ever close your mind?

This video is an objective view of the historical accuracy of the Biblical text of Exodus - similar to the writings of Josephus in his day. The important point: In the beginning God created and set all things in motion. As man observes these things they become events. God's revelation to a man named Moses becomes a miracle of prophecy down to the moment natural disaster occurs. This is the same God today who desires us to believe and know Him through Jesus Christ. So if you are human, open up your mind.
