I purchased this book as a result of seeing and being completely impressed by Andrea on "Top Chef". I also believe in the healing power of eating whole, unprocessed food, but would like to be less reliant on prepared foods (even if I purchase them from Whole Foods). The first half of the book focuses on describing the importance of eating fresh, unprocessed food and the health benefits of the various food groups. The second part consists of recipes. I have already done a few of them and they have been easy, delicious and made me and my husband feel great! I am actually excited to try the rest of them.If you aren't convinced of the importance of the food choices you make, Andrea's enthusiasm, knowledge and personal experience will definitely inspire you - and her recipes will make you a believer. Happily, she does all of this with warmth and humour; she is not about preaching.

I purchased this book as a resource to have in my healing library and because I have had the pleasure of knowing Andrea. As a simple yet engaging guide to whole foods eating, her book definitely delivers. I have always been a fan of her dynamic approach which I was happy to see carry over into her writing. This is a must for those who want the basics and some great recipes to support them. It may be a little too basic for those looking for a more in depth exploration.A great book!

This book gives you the fundamentals of health and food. It clears up any confusion about food and their healing abilities. I already tried some of the recipies and they came out perfect, not to mention delicious! The author has simplified a somewhat complex concepts so this is an easy book to read and comprehend.

This is one of my go to cookbooks. Everything I've made has been absolutely fabulous. Often healthy whole foods recipes are bland or not universally appealing, but I've found that every time I serve any of these dishes to my friends or family, they are always a hit and people ask for the recipes. Not only does it help keep me healthy, but it's given my two year old son a head start in enjoying delicious nutritious food. You will not be disappointed. Just a few of my favorite recipes are the Chick Pea Caper Salad, The Carrot Ginger Soup and the Apple Crisp.

Best guidebook for eating right,

Thanks to Andrea for writing such a concise book. Half is educational and the other half of book contains recipes and definitions for certain food items. I use this book as my main reference now and even have added a few of my fav recipe to the back of the book as I am not a meat eater. Though there are more than enough recipes for non meat eaters. I really like Andrea's approach to thus subject. She keeps it simple and balanced. I would give this book as a gift to someone else who is tryng to navigate the world if proper weight loss and health maintenance.

Great overview of some great things anyone can do to be healthier. Not a lot of science and I would have liked some more explanation on some areas. But a great introduction.
