4.0 out of 5 stars The whole wide world soundtrack
I ordered the CD used and I paid highly for it. I would have knocked 10 bucks off because of the condition of the cover. All the essential music was there, and it is beautiful, just as the movie is(I highly reccommend it to everyone!)But BEWARE!-The cover lists 12 tracks, but the actual CD only played 9. 2.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing
I bought this recording based upon another Amazon review that was very misleading. There's NONE of the Zimmer magic. I've since read that almost all of the score was actually penned by Gregson-Williams . . . and, I believe it!

I was a tad annoyed at this. It almost led me to believe the CD was copied. Please don't let this discredit the music itself though. The composers did fabulous work, capturing the flavor of the time period, the erratic mood swings of Bob Howard and a sad, theme of love & disillusionment for Novalyne Price.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of My Most Favorite CD's in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!, August 23, 2000
This review is from: The Whole Wide World (Audio CD)
This is a fabulous CD that is wonderful on its own or as a companion to the film. I purchased it after seeing the movie because I wanted to have access to the feelings I experienced watching the film without necessarily having to pop the tape in all the time. However, it has been quite a while since I made my purchase and I am still listening to the CD on a regular basis. The music takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride of excitement, drama, romance, and peace that would satisfy the listener whether or not he or she has seen the film. If you enjoy original instrumental music that tells a story, buy this CD! Buy it on Amazon.com, too, because 1) It's kind of hard to find; and 2) Amazon.com has it at a great price! PS If you like the soundtrack from GLADIATOR you will be just as pleased with this one (it's by the same composer).
