I was disappointed with this book. It is specifically for using old linen items like doileys and pillows - there are no actual ideas for full size(bed) quilts, despite the title of the book! The quilting patterns are good - but no different from other quilting design books. Despite the front cover saying 'Pattterns & Designs', there are no size or cutting instructions for any items - all the work is done on existing finished items.

I found the book interesting because I like collecting old linens and the intersection of my quilting with the linen collection was intriguing to me. The book shows some nice examples, some useful fabric care information and has loads of quilting templates that the quilter can use. But, overall, this is really a collection of a few examples and a quick how-to sheet. I liked the examples that I saw and they DID inspire me to try my own project and the author states that her goal is to inspire. On the flip-side, it was a book I wish I had checked out of the library, rather than purchase. Or better yet, that I just saw a demonstration by the author. Not bad, just not terrific.
