Book Description

May 1, 2011

Wholeliness can give you a refreshing new look at life, offering a sense of fulfillment and peace. As you flow through the pages of this divine work, allow the wisdom to penetrate your soul and enrich you in glorious ways.”

Peggy McColl, the New York Times best-selling author of Your Destiny Switch and The Won Thing

Standing on the brink of the greatest shift in human history, which is due to occur in 2012, we sense that our purpose lies in shattering illusions that have inhibited us from reaching our true potential.

Internationally renowned clinical psychologist Carmen Harra explains that we must embrace wholeliness: the unity of humanity, the Divine, and the universe. Only by perceiving that we are both individuals and at one with the whole can we begin to eradicate our fears and draw on Divine support during this crucial time. Harra shows us how we can: regain trust in ourselves, others, and the spiritual realm; address the suffering we’ve caused to the human race throughout history; expand universal awareness and elevate our consciousness; and achieve a state of abundance, generosity, and joy so rich that we overflow with compassion.

Wholeliness is the nourishment we require to transcend a challenging era and foster unconditional fulfillment in our lives.

More About the Author

Born in a northern region of Romania known as Transylvania, Carmen Harra began dreaming of the world outside her small village from a very young age. At just five years old, she nearly drowned in a river near her home before being rescued by her father. But the ill-fated experience actually blessed her with an extraordinary gift which she would use to help thousands of others. While being resuscitated, Carmen recalls travelling through a tunnel of white light, and emerging into a picturesque world of beautiful landscapes, familiar faces that had passed on, and serene music before she was reeled back to earthly reality. She was convinced she had broken through the dimension which grounds us all to one reality; she knew she had experienced the other side. As a little girl, Carmen would gaze up at her father and state with determination: "I'm going to go far, I'm going to sing and one day leave this country." Mistaking her intuitive gift for childish imagination, her parents would laugh off her bold declarations, her larger-than-life predictions. It wasn't until the age of 9, when Carmen accurately predicted that Nicolae Ceausescu will become president, that her parents began to believe in her abilities.

As early as 11 years, Carmen began entering and consistently winning singing competitions. She knew that her singing career would become her saving grace, her escape from the little town with no running water and no chance for progress. She quickly rose to fame, appearing first on Romanian national television and then touring all throughout Europe, and released twelve albums which all became instant hits. All the while, Carmen remained fascinated with the remarkable ability of the mind to transcend linear time and foresee the future, the ancient teachings of Kabbalah, and the mesmerizing science of numerology. She was also greatly captivated by the possibility of communicating with those who have passed on. Although fully immersed in her singing career, she began educating herself on these ancient teachings and paranormal topics and exercising more and more her ability to break linear time. Carmen also decided to extend her education and graduated Babes-Bolyai with a degree in philosophy and one in philology. But in her twenties, Carmen suffered a devastating loss as her father passed away. While attending his funeral, Carmen received a critical message from her father's spirit, who assured her that she would indeed leave Romania permanently and that she would meet her future husband immediately after arriving in the new country. The man's name, continued Carmen's father, was printed on the tombstone behind his own. She peeked behind her father's grave, and saw the name Virgil imprinted into the stone.

Carmen was first invited to visit America on a singing contract, but she knew she was destined to stay for the rest of her life. One of the destinations outlined in her contract included a restaurant where she was to perform. As soon as Carmen entered the restaurant, the owner walked up to her and introduced himself as Virgil. The two were inseparable from that moment.

Carmen began contemplating what career to pursue in America. Although never intending initially to work in the fields of psychology or intuitive counseling, Carmen could not help but tell people what she saw in their futures and offer guidance. She decided to trust her own intuition and utilize the gift that came to her naturally, and began offering sessions as an intuitive counselor. She also opted to expand her metaphysical skills by attending Albert University and earning a Ph.D. in Hypnosis and Alternative Healing. Carmen knew that she could better service her clients by combining her intuitive abilities with knowledge of cognitive therapy. Thus, in addition to her previous degrees, she attained a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and began to write her first book, Everyday Karma, which has been translated in 18 different languages and sold all over the globe.

Carmen began to branch out and meet influential people as her career in America steadily progressed. Candice Bergen was among the first to request a session with the rising therapist. Around the same time, Carmen met Denise Rich (wife of billionaire Mark Rich), Courtney Cox, Senator Warner and his daughter, Linda and Jennifer Lopez, and Lauren Bessette (Kennedy's wife's sister). She also began appearing on TV: Carmen's early television appearances include Fox News, NBC's Let's Talk with Dorie Klissas, Good Day New York, and many more.

As an intuitive counselor, Carmen has made countless successful predictions both privately and publicly. Among her most renowned predictions are:

*The third world war will take place in the Middle East in the coming years (Good Day New York, 01/99),
*We will eliminate Saddam Hussein (Good Day New York, 01/99),
*We will discover water on Mars (Good Day New York, 01/99),
*We will never find Osama bin Laden (Channel 11 Morning News, 11/02),
*Al Gore will win the presidency but will not take office (Channel 11 Morning News, 08/00),
*Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston will split (Channel 11 Morning News, 08/00),
*Hillary Clinton will run in 2008 against a Republican woman (Sarah Palin), much younger than her, totally unknown at that point (Daily News, 2003),
*A man of around 40 years, tall, with light features (Rafael Correa) will become president of Ecuador (America Vive, 10/04),
*Barack Obama will become president of the United States but will have a very hard time in the White House and will not run for a second term (The View, 10/08),
*2010 will be the year of earthquakes and the year will begin with a huge earthquake of 7.0 magnitude (Fox News and Channel 11, January 6th and 8th, 2010, respectively),
*Republicans will win Congress and the economy will get worse (Nightly News with Chuck Scarborough, 05/10).
She has been featured in numerous publications such as: the New York Times, New York Post, New York Daily News, Vogue, New York Magazine, US Weekly, V Magazine, Elle Magazine, and many more. 5.0 out of 5 stars A Breath of Fresh Air for the Spirit May 3, 2011
By Paul W.
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Divine inspiration flows through the pages of Wholeliness. It has that certain calming effect on your spirit which very few books do. And it comes at the perfect time, when we're all so frightened by tomorrow and anxious of what can happen next. We're all living on the edge when it comes to internal turmoil. And Wholeliness pinpoints exactly the way we all feel. It takes a while to recognize, but we all live in fear to some degree. Harra's book is a manual to relinquishing your fears and entering the next phase of evolution, together and whole. From the nature of the Divine to real science to mediumship, this book seems to have it all. Carmen Harra integrates every possible philosophy to give you a brand new take on life without fear. She shows us that by giving, we receive, and that by recognizing our sacred connections, we endow not only ourselves but the world with tremendous strength.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to foster unconditional joy in their lives (and I'm pretty sure we all want that!).

5.0 out of 5 stars Wholeliness Can Heal US April 30, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I almost cried when I read the Preface of this book. Mrs. Harra describes in such vivid detail her youthful memories, her own struggle, and her saving grace: Wholeliness. Most importantly, she is so relatable. She takes small anecdotes from her own life and puts them in such a way that anyone can sympathize.

Wholeliness reminds us that we are each a peice of the puzzle, each a bit of the whole. We each count tremendously, for there is no completion if just one note is missing from the symphony. Reading this book reawakened a sense of purpose within me: I am here to contribute to this world, to make it beautiful and whole again, to give lovingly to others and to gracously receive. We forget the sacred connections among us so often, and we almost never stop to think why we are here. Mrs. Harra reminds us of our purpose in a way which is gentle yet indisputable. The same way a melody soothes our ears, Wholeliness soothes our spirits.

I was genuinely impressed by the compassion with which this book was written. And after reading Wholeliness, I'm convinced it'll take just that to save our world, compassion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Timely and Uplifting April 26, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Once again, Dr. Carmen Harra reminds us of what really matters in life, through her time-tested insights and engaging writing style. She reminds us of how we are all connected and why we should work together toward a better future. Not only does she speak generally about ancient unifying principles, she offers anecdotes from her own life and practical steps we can take to underscore the concept of Wholeliness. This book is right on time and is enjoyable reading. It's not preachy or didactic but always humble and asks questions that help you to become introspective about your own life. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars for you Carmen ! October 9, 2011
By Sabine
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Carmen Harra has written several wonderful books which carry profound insights for the spiritual seeker and student of human consciousness. Every book reflects Carmen Harra`s life`s passion - to convey empowerment, hope and help through knowledge, intuition, intention and awareness of the divine.

Yet, in no other book has Dr. Harra been more challenged on a personal level, than in "Wholeliness", as this book was written after Carmen suffered the biggest personal loss in her own life. The strength and clarity of the message in this book, results from Carmen`s own quest to go beyond the pain and find "Wholeliness". In a beautifully structured format, and with accounts from her own life, Carmen describes a very practical approach toward expanding individual human consciousness by "observing, praying and acting" and hereby contributing to the individual and collective "wholeliness."

In "Wholeliness" Carmen offers a profound and yet very practical approach of making sense of the human experience within a context of a higher purpose, a divine influence and a path of growth which each soul can choose.

If we would live in a world where classes on human spirit and consciousness, entirely non-conflicting with anyone`s religious beliefs, could be mandatory in schools, Carmen`s book could be the class text book, standing a great chance to awaken minds and prepare much better in advance for life`s experiences ahead. It provides valuable tools for the individual to create a life of individual and collective "wholeliness."

I highly recommend Carmen`s book !

5.0 out of 5 stars Pulling us back to our center August 9, 2011
By Gabbee
Format:Paperback
Before Hay House Publishing gave me this book to review, I was unfamiliar with the work of Carmen Harra, Ph.D. so starting this book was moving into unfamiliar territory for me, however I soon found myself on solid ground. I think the premise of this book can be summed up with a sentence in the introduction,
"Transformation of the external world must start within."
Her title draws attention and comparison to the more commonly used word or spelling holiness. In essence she has drawn from the definition of holiness to bring us back to the original and yet a new understanding.
"The condition, state or quality of being healed, whole, and in harmony with the Divine and all that exists."
From wikipedia: The English word holy dates back to at least the 11th Century with the Old English word h'lig, an adjective derived from h'l meaning whole and used to mean 'uninjured, sound, healthy, entire, complete'.

The book moves back and forth within each chapter from personal to global reflecting the belief that transformation begins within each of us individually and moves outward. She blends together scientific and spiritual information working on the concept of "whole"liness. Each chapter concludes with three sections: "observe," "pray," and "act."

What kept me focused on this book was the way she made the material accessible and personal. She included stories from her life that made the information come alive. There is also a prevailing sense of hope which provides relief from the current economic and political news. I have spent time going back through the book looking at the bits that I underlined.
