After using this now I have Eagle Eye Vision!

This particular cup (Flents ® Glass Eye Cup) is an oval, but the rim is not shaped to fit your curved face.

After every use, I would rinse the cup extensively with hot water and then 70% isopropanol.

2 stars for glass since it can be sterilized, an obvious plus. Otherwise, it would be 0 stars (if that were possible) because as others have noted, the cup leaks like a sieve! That's uncomfortable at best, but if one is using the eye cup for any herbal eyewash preparation like Dr. Christopher's Eyebright formula, or similar, the leaking might result in horribly stained clothing or linens. This particular cup (Flents ® Glass Eye Cup) is an oval, but the rim is not shaped to fit your curved face. I have been playing around with it for a while and I have found that I can occasionally push on it hard enough to get a good seal, but that's always quite uncomfortable. I am now in search of one of the old-fashioned glass eyecups that have the curved rim and the little foot to hold on to, like a small cordial glass. I hope that works better.

I purchased this to use with my eyebright eyewash. I previously had a different eye cup but it's currently out of stock so I gave this one a try. The major problem with this eye cup is it isn't crafted with a proper curve at the top for the eye-sockets. Your other option is to press it so hard against your eyes that you cut off circulation. Forget that. The other eyecup I used had kind of a wine glass shape so it was easy to hold and it had a proper curve for the eyes. I can't recommend this one.

Also it is always recommended to put a napkin or washcloth under your eyes while washing. That being said, that wont compensate for the flaws with this eyecup. Buy this one only if you can't find anything else online, otherwise pass on it.
I moved and previously owned two of these other brand of eye cup which is far superior and I recommend them:
B0016B9YPO. That's the kind of shape you're looking for!

The cup itself is fine. HOWEVER, I was using it to treat blepharitis, and my eyes were not getting any better. In fact, they were getting worse. After every use, I would rinse the cup extensively with hot water and then 70% isopropanol. It turns out that the little buggers I was trying to remove from my eyes were not being washed out of the glass. I would fill the cup with water and look at the solution through a 30X lighted jewelers loupe, and they were still there. These weren't little bubbles from the water, they mostly stayed suspended in the water or even sunk to the bottom. I even tried letting the cup sit overnight in alcohol, and when that didn't work, I tried hydrogen peroxide. That worked better, but still not good enough. The cup may work fine for some, but for me, it made my condition worse. I have ordered plastic disposable eye cups now.

My Mother had one of these when i was a child many, many years ago. I read that washing your eyes out every day was good for them, so I bought this. It fights the eye perfectly and it's not plastic!!! I recommend it highly for anyone looking for an eye cup.

Glass cup, does not melt with boiling water. Very sturdy.
I wish it had a rubber eyepiece around the top, to prevent liquid from escaping and run down your face.
