Gorgeous New Children's Book, November 19, 2004
This review is from: The Whoosh of Gadoosh (Hardcover)
Gadoosh is a purple-haired homeless woman who can do magic for children of all ages. She can make them float, fly through the air, and even find magical colors in their hair. The children adore her more than anything, so they bring her to school, and try to get their teacher to allow Gadoosh to live in their classroom. But, alas, the teacher says no. So the children bring Gadoosh to the children's ward in the hospital, where she can do tricks all day for the sick children, and help to lift their spirits.
I was initially attracted to this book by the cover illustration, as it reminded me of a Dr. Seuss story. But once opened, I found that the story had a lot more meaning to it than just pretty illustrations. THE WHOOSH OF GADOOSH conveys an important message which teaches people that a little laughter truly does go a long way. Overall, this was a gorgeous children's book that will be loved by all, young and old!

Colorful, eye appealing, and PERFECT!, June 10, 2002
This review is from: The Whoosh of Gadoosh (Hardcover)
...Any child who saw this book on a shelf would grab it at once! It has immediate and wonderful eye appeal with all its bright colors and whimsical objects flying around on the cover...as if by magic. Then there is the button with the words, "Press Here To Start". What could be more appealing to a child - or an adult looking for a child's book? I was enchanted by this delightful new title from Illumination Arts: The Whoosh of Gadoosh. The story follows best friends Jaimy and Jake as they find a home for a wacky, magical and mysterious woman named Gadoosh. She wears shabby shoes (magic of course) flipped inside out, has purple hair, and sells magic buttons from her cart which are to be worn over each child's heart. The laughter of a child causes Gadoosh to whoosh through the air, spreading her gift of laughter to everyone. The colors are eye-popping and the catchy rhyme is reminiscent of Dr. Seuss. Laughter is often the best medicine, and children of every age will realize that when they put on their magic buttons and "Press Here to Start". I highly recommend this book!...

wonderful story in every way, August 1, 2006
This review is from: The Whoosh of Gadoosh (Hardcover)
This is a great book - the pictures are interesting and the flow of the words is easy to read aloud and can hold a childs interest. The story teaches many things. I love the buttons on their hearts that say "push here to start" What you start is healing through laughter and love. My kids loved it - the older ones not only read it to the younger ones, they read it to their friends.
