Like paintings in an art exhibit, scenes in an artistic film or the songs of your favorite album, each of Sarah Maclay's poems in her book "Whore" are as provocative and beautiful alone as they are collectively. A dream like thread in her voice keeps the poems connected, creating a continuum for the reader while allowing for the enjoyment of the uniqueness and solidarity an individual poem provides on its own. Exploring love,life and language her poems balance accessibility with high art and to anyone who thrives on the joys of contemporary poetry, Sarah Maclay's book is a must read. I hope we'll be seeing another book soon! Enjoy!
