Tanika Lynch deserves a standing ovation for this captivating tale of misery that engulfs you and pulls you through the wringer with the central character, a young abused teenager named Kamone. Kamone has suffered just about any type of abuse you can imagine but holds true to her lifelong love for her siblings to fight until the very end to assure their well being and safety. She will pull at your heartstings making it skip a few beats, you will become breathless, matter of fact, you will have to put the book down a couple of times to get yourself together. That's just how good this book is!

Tanika's story seems like one of the bunch, but, I assure you the journey she takes you on will be one of the most memorable ones that you will ever have the privilege of traveling.

Tanika Lynch most definitely deserves 10 stars for this wonderful literary piece of art! I applaud you Ms. Lynch and will mos def be in line for your future endeavors!!!!!!! Your light is shining! Many blessings to you and yours!

I READ THIS BOOK IN ONE DAY NOT BECAUSE IT WAS SHORT BUT BECAUSE I HAD TO KNOW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT. YOU WILL CRY,LAUGH AND FIGHT TO SURVIVE WITH KAMONE AS SHE STRUGGLES TO TAKE CARE OF HER SELF AND HER SISTER AND BROTHER.

KAMONE NEVER HAD A CHILD HOOD SHE WENT FROM PLAYING WITH DOLLS TO BEING TREATED LIKE A STREET DOLL FOR ALL TO PLAY WITH.

I know when I like a book when I finish it in two days! This book was VERY brutal, VERY graphic, very SEXUAL, and VERY hard! Kamone just had it bad at birth, poor girl! A definate check out.

THIS BOOK WAS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD, AND ALOT BETTER THAN I EXPECTED. THIS BOOK WAS HARD FOR ME TO PUT DOWN ONCE I GOT INTO IT. THIS BOOK IS ABOUT A YOUNG GIRL NAMED KAMONE, WHO HAS LITERALLY BEEN USED AND ABUSED BY EVERYONE WHO WAS ANYONE IN HER LIFE. HER MOTHER WAS AN HIV POSITIVE, CRACK HEAD, [...], WHOM WAS JEALOUS OF HER DAUGHTER KAMONE. SHE LEFT KAMONE AND HER HER TWO SIBLINGS, KAMONE WAS FORCED BY HER MOTHERS MADAME (PIMP) INTO A LIFE OF [...]. SHE WAS MANIPULATED TO GO MAKE MONEY OR HERSELF AND HER SIBLINGS WOULD BE REPORTED TO CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES AND BE SEPERATED. KAMONE WENT OUT INTO THE MEAN STREETS, AND INDULGED IN COCAINE TO COPE WITH TURNING TRICKS, THE OTHER [...] ON THE BLOCK WERE JEALOUS OF HER BECAUSE SHE WAS YOUNG, PRETTY , AND FRESH MEAT. ONE OF THE OTHER [...] ON THE STREETS SET KAMONE UP TO BE BEATEN AND RAPED, AND INJECTED WITH HEROIN , AND SHE WAS LEFT FOR DEAD IN A DUMPSTER. KAMONE WAS FOUND BY A MAN NAMED LUCCI. LUCCI TOOK KAMONE IN AND SHELTERED HER, AND GREW TO LOVE HER. LUCCI WAS A BIG TIME DRUG DEALER, WHO LAVISHED KAMONE WITH EVERYTHING, AND RAISED HER TWO YOUNGER SIBLINGS AS HIS OWN CHILDREN. LUCCI WAS THE ONLY MAN KAMONE EVER MET WHOM DIDN'T ABUSE HER AND THROW HER OUT FOR DEAD! LUCCI'S TWIN BROTHER DAVID, IS A REAL MANIAC. HE HIMSELF IS THE DEVIL IN SHEEPS CLOTHING. HE IS A COP, AND INSTANTLY FORMS AN ATTRACTION TO KAMONE, AND DECIDEDS SHE WILL BE HIS WOMAN. HE IS SICK AND TWISTED AND WILL MANIPULATE, AND DO ANYTHING, INCLUDING ABUSING HER TO HAVE HER, AND HE IS WILLING TO LIE CHEAT STEAL AND EVEN KILL HIS BROTHER TO GET TO HIS WOMAN.OVERALL THIS WAS A FAST PACED READ. IT WAS SUSPENSFUL AND HAD BIZARRE TWISTS THAT YOU DONT SEE COMING! I THINK READERS WILL ENJOY THIS BOOK, I DID!!

THIS IS AN AWESOME BOOK...I WASN'T GOING TO GET IT WHEN I SAW THE TITLE-I GUESS YOU CAN'T JUDGE A BOOK BY THE TITLE...BUT I'M GLAD I PICKED IT UP...KAMONE BEEN THROUGH ALOT...SHE MET LUCCI, WHO WAS ABOUT HER AND HER SIBLINGS...AND SHE OVERCAME ALL THE ADVERSITY IN HER LIFE...KUDOOS TO TANIKA LYNCH....KEEP DOING YOUR THING, GIRLFRIEND.

This was a quick read that kept one fairly interested, but it was just so dam# depressing! Girl grows up in a screwed up environment, girl makes escape, girl meets boy but can't cast off ghetto upbringing, girl falls back into old lifestyle, girl finally gets it together...happily eva after! I had to put it down, and I never picked it back up. On the one hand, I couldn't stand reading that much heartbreak and pain; on the other hand, I couldn't relate to someone making the same dumb mistakes. It just depressed me so much (and pissed me off) that Kamone couldn't make some better decisions. I know that a lot of people emulate what they see, but Lord Have mercy...that was just too much!

This is the first time I've written a review. I just could not remain silent any longer. I read this piece of drivel because of the great reviews. Sorry, but I prefer more substance to my reading. This is the first book I've read under Triple Crown and believe me when I say that I will NOT seek out another. Really people, how much of a spin can one put on pimpin', whorin' and drug use? All of the stories in this genre are practically the same. I don't understand how people read multiple books with basically the same plot lines. At what point does it become tiring, redundant and just a waste of paper?

This book was incredible. I finished it thinkg "somebody had to go through this." Ms. Lynch is an incredibly talented writer and she had me hooked on Kamone's story from page one. I finished reading the book at work and literally had to take a break to get emotions in check. I passed the book on to several co-workers and had to get a little ugly to get it back (lol). I definately will re-read this one. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent

Author Tanika Lynch did her thang with this one!!! All U people thinking about buying a good book, U won't be mad buying this one. This is definitely a page turner and well written story about a young girl forced to learn how to survive in the streets.

THIS BOOK I MUST SAY IS A MUST READ A PAGE TURNER ONCE YOU START READING IT YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN. THE STORY LINE WAS GREAT THE CHARACTERS WERE SO BELIEVEABLE. THE ONLY THING THAT I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS BOOK IS THAT YOU HAVE TO READ IT. I DEMAND THAT YOU READ THIS BOOK YOU WON'T REGRET IT. THIS BOOK DESERVES MORE THAN FIVE STARS IT DESERVES 10, 20, 100 ECT..... PLEASE READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
