5.0 out of 5 stars A Funny Tale With a Entertaining Ending , October 14, 2005
A Kid's Review
Who's Got the Apple is as funny as Clifford trying to hide. First, the Man in the Black Hat gets a fake apple while doesn't know it is real because a grocer played an April Fools joke on him. For example, he sits the apple on a windowsill to try and ripen it. Second, the apple gets pushed out the window by the Man in the Black Hat's parrot. Through out the book the Man in the Black Hat did not know that apple was ever go. Last at the end of the book a bug, ripe apple is accidentally returned in the place of the fake apple, with only a bite mark out of the apple. The Man in the Black Hat never knew the apple was gone. For example, he blamed his parrot for the bite mark in the apple, while a fireman really took the bite. I have had this book since I was little and years later still read and enjoy Who's Got the Apple.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny , June 1, 2007
Who's got the apple is the funny of a man and a tricky storekeeper. The apple has an adventure of it's own and ends up all over town, and back into the hands of the old man. Creative and funny even, the book is suprising. It also shows us how things come back to us, and has great pictures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clever story and fun illustrations to pour over, March 13, 2007
By Tuppy (Colorado) - See all my reviews
This is a great book for children who are just learning to read on their own. The story is clever and memorable but not too wordy. The pictures are imaginatively detailed and provide good visual cues. This was the first book I ever read back in kindergarten in 1977. I got to pick it out at the store, and it was my little "project" to figure out all the words by myself. I was very proud when I was able to read it out loud in school. I recently found it and read it to my niece and nephew. They loved it, and took turns "reading" the story back to me. (They don't read yet, but they were able to reconstruct the story from memory and from the pictures.) We enjoyed pouring over the illustrations together to find all of the hidden surprises. So this book continues to make warm memories and encourage new readers.
