Book Description

August 11, 1997
Have you found yourself giving in too often, yelling too much, or making excuses for your child's behavior? Here's how to establish order and harmony in your home and avoid power struggles. The key, says author Bob Barnes, is to have a family plan of shared responsibilities and consequences so that your children know what is expected of them. Read and learn how to create a plan and how to respond when your child fails to meet the plan -- when he or she lies, argues with siblings, fails at a task, or faces peer pressure. Barnes shows you how to discipline your children with consistency and love without feeling guilty or causing anger or resentment. Who's In Charge Here? will help you establish a pattern of positive behavior and self-control that will get your home back in order and avoid disaster. By arming yourself with this book you can win each 'battle' without losing the 'war.'

This review is from: Who's In Charge Here? (Paperback)
This book is excellent. It helpls you to have control over your child without breaking his spirit. It gives parents ways to help their children learn lessons in life without just telling them these are my rules and while you live here you will follow them. He helps you help your children to be responsible children and helps them pave a path to adulthood...

5.0 out of 5 stars The best parenting book I have ever read, June 29, 2001
This review is from: Who's In Charge Here? (Paperback)
Mr. Barnes has produced an amazing work that could save millions of parents and children from the domestic agony to which they have been sentenced by the errors of modern parenting theories. He hits every important topic- from the impotanace of consistency, to the negative effects of parental emotional outbursts, to why proper spanking is not a regression to barbarism as modern experts claim. If I had the talent and patience to write a book, this is exactly what I would like to have written. It earns an A+.

1.0 out of 5 stars Advice Filtered Through One Man's Interpretations of God, December 22, 2004

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Who's In Charge Here? (Paperback)
The true subject of this book was sublety hidden in Amazon's upfront on-line information. The title and the first few pages of actual text suggest an objective treatment of child rearing when in fact this book is a Christian Religeous treatise. I consider myself a Christian, but when the author bases his opions soley on what God has told him, then one wonders what the author's true intent is. Is he giving advice or is he ministering? If you like to be preached to then buy this book, otherwise try to seek out something more objective.
