This CD is great and features the late Notorious B.I.G.'s first song, "Party and Bullshit". This is a CD everyone who collects CDs should have.

I have to agree with 'Ben'. Just go ahead and add this to your collection. Great early 90's hip-hop.
Enjoy!

I love a good soundtrack/compilation & this is no exception. I was bout 11 when my auntie got me this to spoil me more than her sister(my mom) can/did but she (and me) had no idea how much quality this record was.The only thing that really got spoiled were my standards/expectations of HipHop/R&B from that day on(along with all the fantastic songs & ideas those scenes were putting out in the early 2 mid 90's).Its almost chilling how consistently great every song is with nice variety and changes of style/pace. When this came out "Jump Around" was everywhere, nobody without an ear to the ground knew Biggie(b4 he was Notorious..) and PDiddy was busier with music biz( he's one of 3 exec producers on Who's the Man) than making bad music & worse rhymes.
When this movie/soundtrack came out most of the artists on this compilation were selling a lot in their own rite or on the fringe of bigger/better things but not really known in the real world. With hindsight and familiarity with the people on this record-you can sense on every song a purpose/hunger and appreciate this even more almost 20 years later how special and just plain how good the music is on this. MaryJ Blige b4 411?, Biggie b4 Ready 2 Die- u understand? And House of Pain might get hate & eye rolls for "Jump Around" (great song and even most haterz from back then love it when they hear it today) or for being white but the title song here is just mad powerful on every level of music/rhyme and HOP live up 2 the pressure of being the best selling artist on the soundtrack(when this came out) along wit having the movie title track. Every artist on this record is official- look em up if u don't rr. Movie might be a comedy but the soundtrack is as serious as this scene ever got.

Dissapointed that none of the music I heard in the movie wasn't on the this tape. And that was the only reason I purhased it.
