Only "Who's That Girl?" and "Causing A Commotion" are good songs on here. If you like these songs, I recommend just buying the Import Singles, they'd be worth more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Madonna is a Goddess!, June 28, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Who's That Girl: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I never listen to any of the songs except Madonna's 4 songs. They are:
Who's That Girl- Madonna sings in Spanish in this adorable little pop song. Very, very cute!!

Causing a commotion- great dance song. Great for working out.

Look of Love- very touching ballad. Madonna shows off her competant pipes.

Can't Stop- very cute. I believe it was written for Sean Penn.

5.0 out of 5 stars History's most underappreciated album., October 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Who's That Girl: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I am an avid early Madonna fan, but have never cared for her later work (with 1992's Erotica the exception to that rule). Madonna's 4 songs from this CD are the last from her "early period", they are also, by far and away, her best. The fact "Look of Love" didn't get a US single release is simply an injustice, I usually don't like ballads, but I love this one. "Who's That Girl" is a masterpiece, simultaneaously being both innocently fun and eerily haunting. And, in my humble opinion, "Causing a Commotion" is the single finest song ever recorded, 4:20 of pure energy. Unfortunatley, the alnum's quality dips percepitously once you get beyond the Madonna stuff, but nevertheless well worth the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good soundtrack--Love "The Look of Love" on it, August 28, 2004
This review is from: Who's That Girl: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Although this soundtrack has a spotty lineup, I liked the Madonna songs on it. I didn't get this album until the summer of 1989. But I played it a lot that summer. My favorite song on here is Madonna's "The Look of Love." I like the somber mood of the song and the keyboards playing on it. It should have been on her 1986 "True Blue" album--sounds like a slower version of the fast paced White Heat on there. But I like the hits of Who's That Girl and Causing a Commotion. Club Nouveau's '87 offering following that mega '86 album success is just as good. The others are mainly dance numbers that want to sound like Madonna's songs. Didn't like the movie--it was a stinker big time--I felt that Madonna should have sticked to music, which she's very good at to this day. The soundtrack more than makes up for that summer '87 box office bomb.

4.0 out of 5 stars QUIEN ES ESA NINA! (whos that girl), October 25, 2003

Well Its an adorable soundstrack. With catchy late 80's tunes even my 4 year old niece caught on to whos that girl, she hums it and tries to sing it the best she can. I think little kids today between ages 4 and 7, will like that song if radio brought it back, its kiddy like!!also causing a commotion. she likes to here over and over. the movie confused her cause the madonna she knows is from the Music era. I had explain that madonna changes and she was not born yet. Like i read in one of theses reviews, this is a madonna fan collectable..

This review is from: Who's That Girl: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I always liked this soundtrack. I remember seeing the cover for the first time and that's what drew me too it. I think "Who's That Girl?" is one of her best songs. It is uplifting and fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite a Good Soundtrack, Pure 1987, December 28, 2002

This review is from: Who's That Girl: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This is an excellent and very interesting soundtrack, and (no secret), essential for Madonna fans. It contains the two US hit singles WHO'S THAT GIRL and the still-irresistable CAUSING A COMMOTION as well as the #9 UK hit ballad THE LOOK OF LOVE and the also good CAN'T STOP. The songs from the other artists are as good as you will probably guess they are, but you may still get a kick out of them. Madonna fans will find themselves flipping to her material mostly, but songs like 24 HOURS and TURN IT UP are pretty good, even though no one knows where Club Nouveau and Michael Davidson are. They could be dead for all we know (of course, we hope not). One good thing about the movie was that it used Madonna's 4 songs very appropriately throughout the movie, they really do fit in with the plot, making this CD an authentic soundtrack to a very good movie. Anyone who saw and liked the movie needs to own this soundtrack, as well as any Madonna fan or lover of mediocre 80's pop.

The album has some great madonna originals, and a few late 80's band pop tunes to add to the mix.
