3.0 out of 5 stars One of those bands that shoulda been but never were, April 2, 2008
This review is from: Who's Tommy Cooper (Audio CD)
I remember driving around Denver in 1995 listening to the sadly ill-fated 92x when, suddenly, I was jolted out of the boredom of University BLVD on the way to my job at Famous Video & Music ('member when those kindsa stores still existed before B-Buster power-played 'em into the dust: used CDs/video games/and Rainer Werner Fassbinder movies--sweeeet). The jolt was a powerful opening riff. The first time I heard "Beyond Belief" was a similar moment. "What is this?, I asked myself with a goofy beguiled smile. Four minutes and two seconds later, I heard the DJ mention something about an unsigned band called Reacharound from the UK. 92x--the best radio station Denver has known in my memory--disappeared due to capitalism. While 92x remained--before KBPI stomped it into the ground--I enjoyed Reacharound, among other great lost bands (Cold Crank, we hardly knew ye, although, I can't vouch for the fact that 92x played Cold Crank; if they didn't, they should've). Months later, BMG gave me an offer I couldn't refuse, and long story short, "Who's Tommy Cooper" was mailed to my meager abode. It's a bit hit or miss as a whole, but "Big Chair" is a hit that should never have missed. Do yourself a favor and don't miss it yourself. You won't regret it. And if you do, there's always Kylie Minogue, you little sinner. XD Now, excuse me, but the Floyd beckons . . .

The band that dissapeared! A great original piece of my CD collection, everytime i listen to Who's Tommy Cooper i like it more and more! I wish i had seen them live. If you like hard catchy rock with good lyrics and a raw garage like take on music that makes you smile then give Reacharound a listen! Reacharound rocks period!

5.0 out of 5 stars A lost gem, June 21, 2008
This review is from: Who's Tommy Cooper (Audio CD)
This album is a lost gem of mid-90's American power pop/post-grunge alternative rock. Echoes of the Clash, 70's garage rock, and pure pop-punk hooks. This isn't groundbreaking, but it's a hybrid that wears its influences on its sleeve and displays beautiful execution.

Out of print, but highly recommended if you can find it used.
