5.0 out of 5 stars Great thrash metal album : For Whose Advantage - XENTRIX
It's really difficult to find some old thrash metal bands' albums in Turkey. One of them is Xentrix. When i saw this album in amazon.com, i did not think so much to buy it. i received it only in 12 days although i'm in Turkey. This album satisfied me with the pure thrash of Xentrix - one of the best English metal bands. I recommend this album and also "Shattered...

I have this tape from back in the day. UK Thrash they say. I say total Metallica rip off band. I'm sorry but these guys never stood out. I found this tape the other day and popped it into a tape player (who has one nowadays!?) and it brought back memories of when i was a kid. but it also brought back mems of how i didn't like this band very much. Some of the riffs...

If somebody had told me that this was a bay area thrash band of the U.S.A then i might have believed him. Of course this is thrash, a little crunchy but not too fast. This album was released in 1990, this was an English thrash band that could fit without problems in the bay area category, this happened in the last stage of the thrash metal bum, of course there were uncountable bands playing this style so that it was pratically impossible to sound unique or original therefore the sound in this album is very familiar but i believe that they were not cloning any band of the era. They might sound a little like "Steve Esquivel" and his band "Defiance" in the album "Terra Firma" but just a little. I do not know why but i find this xentrix album more enjoyable than "Terra Firma". I really enjoy this album and it never gets me bored, i think of it very often and feel the need to play it. If you like/love eighties thrash then you may like this album as well. If you are a thrash completist maybe this would fit into your collection. Unfortunately i have never heard any other xentrix album, but i will buy them all as soon as i can.

If you're a fan of old-school Thrash Metal, you have to check out Xentrix. "For Whose Advantage?" is some of the most impressive, and precisely executed Thrash I've ever heard. Nothing short of a classic Thrash masterpiece in my opinion. FIVE STARS. TOTALLY KICK *** THRASH!!!...

I had never heard of this band before. This is speed metal, with fast and furious guitar. For me, when I enjoy it I need to be in the right frame of mind. They have a few songs on You-Tube. Check 'em out.

If there's one thing I love about thrash metal...is the bands that you overlooked and discover, there were so many good bands out there:)Xentrix has a simple style of thrash metal.Xentrix has a straight-foward,purely aggressive sound and I'm glad they re-released this album and they are definitely worth checking out!

I'm very impressed with Xentrix!!! I own their first two CDs and love them both. Good, solid thrash metal. Haven't heard their last two CDs (Kin and Scourge) yet, but I've heard they are different. Anyway, the first two (and especially For Whose Advantage) are solid efforts! And they have all their EP stuff on their first two re-releases.

Some of the riffs are waaaay to close to Metallica. You can pass on this rare item as it offers nothing special.
