Review

"A book that captures the heart and imagination of what could be. An inspiring and universal message with a page-turning storyline full of surprises." --Waggoner, Columbus, Ohio

"Jerry Prescott's creative talents have produced a a thought provoking and inspiring book. If Jesus returned to earth, what would be the response to Him and what He would have to say about the moral and ethical questions challenging people throughout the world? This book presents one possible scenario." --Moeller, Flint, Michigan

"The author's faith in a loving, compassionate and forgiving God shines in nearly every page of the story. It embodies hope that through prayer God leads individuals and groups toward reconciliation, goodness and the establishment of God's kingdom on earth." --Krehbiel, Ann Arbor, Michigan

3.0 out of 5 stars Lack of proofreading most distracting!!, July 23, 2008
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Why Ann Arbor? (Hardcover)
While the local color could have been conducive to pulling the reader into this story, the tremendous number of typos and spelling errors were just too distracting. Repeated uses of <don't'>, <they'll for there'll>, whole sentences and phrases missing - all tended to suggest a 'quick and dirty', rather slipshod job of manuscript preparation and publication.

The premise of the story was indeed interesting, but there were too many references to supposedly profound statements made by this modern day 'Jesus' - which were never specified. There were also many hints and statements about how similar 'Jesus' appeared to be to a couple other people, suggesting he might have been an imposter. There was never a clarification of why he looked like a certain comedian - but was/was not that person, etc. This seemed to undermine the plot. There needed to be more meat on the bones! All these non-specifics and innuendoes, combined with the typos and misusages suggested I had just read the outline or rather thin rough draft of what MIGHT turn out to be a fantastic novel - or a missed opportunity.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Positive View, September 21, 2006
This review is from: Why Ann Arbor? (Hardcover)
"Why Ann Arbor" is a very uplifting book.
It shows what could happen if people were
more understanding of different beliefs
and opinions and willing to work together
to make this a better world. It is a
positive view of "what would Jesus do"
if he returned to earth.
