More About the Author

The "World of Change" series is now in its third book. "Out of Mischief" was followed by "Into Trouble," and now our dubious heroine Aleria finds herself in "Mountains of Mischief." The fourth book in the series, "Trouble with Tents," will be out this summer.
Meanwhile, in the Historical Novel section, I have just published a novel about a small village in the foothills of the Alps during the French Revolution. "Storm over Savournon" is available on Kindle and in paperback.

I also adjudicate Speech Arts Festivals, and direct two different Seniors' performance troupes. Sometimes I teach ESL in Korea. My latest fun job was supervising the medal ceremonies in Speed Skating for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. I crew on a 30-foot racing sloop called "Jumala" out of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. It's in the Dragon class, which is appropriate for a fantasy writer.
I have recently travelled to Vietnam and Cambodia, which gives me all sorts of material for my blog, "Why Are People So Stupid?"

I really expected more humor. The constant referencing to other chapters in the book was a distraction as well as being very difficult to flit back and forth in an e-book. (Surprisingly it is much easier to do such in a printed edition) Overall it was a good
read, but not a great one. I suspect the printed version would be more enjoyable.

This book has a light, easy-to-read style yet is still pretty informative. I enjoyed reading it, but found that by the end, the real reason people are so stupid is the same as it has always been: they just don't agree with you (or in this case, they don't agree with the opinions of the author.)

I found this book interesting and it did answer some of my questions. I got it as a kindle issue and now I think I will get a paper copy since it is hard to go back and check on information. So books just don't work withthe kindle.
