I finally found IT!,
By Ross Potts (Fredericksburg, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Why Can't I Fly? (Hello Reader) (Paperback)
I read this when I was a 7 year old child in the 70s... I have looked a lot of places (libraries, stores, etc.) for the past ten years to no avail...This book is a wonderful example of what good friends are like. I got teary eyed when I told my wife about the story. I definitley plan on purchasing this for my children.

Why Can't I Fly,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Why Can't I Fly? (Library Binding)
I liked when the monkey said "I can fly, I can fly". He didn't have any wings so he couldn't fly. I liked when he can't fly, he flopped. I liked the book. It was good!

Why Can't I Fly?,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Why Can't I Fly? (Hello Reader) (Paperback)
My book that I'm reading is Why Can't I Fly? The book is about birds trying to help Minnie the Monkey fly. At the end Minnie tried one more time. Then the birds quickly got a blanket so Minnie could land in it. Minnie landed in it. Then she said I can fly! Minnie said goodbye. I will give the book three stars.

Preschool Circle Time,
By Sarah Fish (Gilbert, Az United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Why Can't I Fly? (Hello Reader) (Paperback)
I am a preschool teacher and found this story in a box of my husband's old books. When reading it, the kids love to join in and say 'goodbye' and 'I can...flop!'. Its the only story so far that has gotten all of my kids to sit and listen in circle time at school! The 4 year-olds give this a thumbs up!

Move over, Dr. Seuss!,

This review is from: Why Can't I Fly? (Hello Reader) (Paperback)
This charming book sends my two- and four-year-olds into hysterics every time we read it. A little monkey (Minnie) attempts to fly to no avail, and continues to get bad advice from his winged friends. It really tickles the little ones' funny bones every time Minnie flops instead of flying. I can't believe it wasn't written by Seuss--the text is just as tight and well-rhymed as his books.

My 5 year old grandson who cannot read yet, fell in love with this book. I wish I could find a copy to buy for him or even to check out at the library. The copy we saw belongs to his great-aunt and she is not parting with it!

Kids will love it,

A friend found this book in a donation bin at the child advocacy center where we work. It is so cute and teaches the power of faith and friendship without being preach-y.When my friend quit and took the book with her, I found another copy on an auction site. My kindergarten Sunday School class absolutely loves it. They read it with me and laugh when Minnie paints herself red and black or rolls in feathers. Unfortunately, it's out of print but I HIGHLY recommend searching for it. You and the lucky child who you read it to will love it.

Our entire family loves this book!,

We love this book so dearly as we received this from my husband's mother (who has given us most of our great books-she is the best!). It is a treasured book in our home. I always have a wonderful time reading this to my girls. All the different and colorful characters introduced in the book allow you interpret so many "voices" for these characters and your kids will love it and giggle. It has such a fun pace and a sense of creativity, solution and friendship.I only wish this wasn't such a hard book to find to gift to others.

A Classic for Kids of ALL Ages!,

I found this book at a yard sale when my oldest son was about 5 yrs. old. He loved this book so much that I could literally read it by heart to him. Later, my youngest son fell in love with this fantastic book. The rhythm and fun captured by the author is rarely found in childrens' books. I intend to buy a new copy for our new grandbaby.
