2.0 out of 5 stars It's okay
This is an alright item. The cry analyzer is something neat. You have to get it real close to the baby and it takes a while for it to respond, and while pretty accurate, I can't stand to let the baby sit there and cry without trying to console her in the meantime. This is an alright item. The cry analyzer is something neat. You have to get it real close to the baby and it takes a while for it to respond, and while pretty accurate, I can't stand to let the baby sit there and cry without trying to console her in the meantime. I liked the feature with room temperature and humidity, I would have kept it around just for that, but the battery only lasts a day or two when left on all the time.

I consider this pretty much a neat toy, but overall it was a waste.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dad's best device, August 20, 2008

Length:: 5:30 Mins

I have used it with both of my daughters and it is the only way i could communicate with them before they are able to talk. It is very tough to know what they wanted when they cry, i did not want to over feed them as the first thing to do when a baby cries is to give milk. But with whycry i knew exactly what they wanted and even knew how to respond :) in the manual of the device it gives you suggestions how to respond which is pretty coool and helpful.

a must have for parents and child care givers

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Gadget. Great for New Parents, February 22, 2011
This review is from: The Why Cry Baby Crying Analyzer (Health and Beauty)
Although you can usually know why your baby cries; this is kinda fun to use and astoundingly it is pretty acurate.

Pros
- Gives a good direction on why your baby is crying; with suggestions on how to respond to your baby's cry.
- Temp and Humidity display is a nice added feature to have.

Cons
- Takes a little too long to analyze your baby's cry. If they could improve the monitors response time, the product would be top.
- Needs to be pretty close to your baby, but the range is acceptable.
- A little overpriced. Do your shopping and find the cheaper ones. Have found them for as little as $20, however average is around $30.

Overall this is a great little tool to help new parents learn their baby's needs.

3.0 out of 5 stars Has its ups and downs, March 22, 2011

When I first saw this product I was still pregnant with my son. Since my husband and I have very little experience in caring for babies, I thought this would be the perfect thing to help us out as we become new parents. While it has been helpful at times, I have found there are also many times where the analyzer has been unable to decipher our son's banshee-like screams, and keeps telling us to reset the machine. This can be very frustrating when you have an infant screaming and you've just fed and changed him, so now what? The device takes a few minutes to work out what the child is crying about, and this can seem like an ETERNITY when your baby is crying! It also drains batteries quite quickly, so we have found that it's better to only turn it on when we are having trouble figuring out what he needs, instead of leaving it on all the time. There have been times where it has come in handy, though, especially when I think I've given him enough to eat but he thinks otherwise! The instruction booklet that comes with it also has a chart which further helps you to translate your child's needs through his body language, and also gives suggestions for what to depending on what the results on the machine say. That has been VERY helpful, since I didn't even know a 4-week-old could even BE stressed, let alone what to do about it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for new parents of newborn, November 21, 2010
This review is from: The Why Cry Baby Crying Analyzer (Health and Beauty)
Cry analyzer is a neat idea especially for new parents that are figuring out what to do with a crying newborn. Not that it replaces parenting but is just an extra tool to help out. It provides feedback of Hunry, Sleepy, Stressed, Annoyed and Bored. Used it for the first few weeks and has a temperature and humidity reading.

I have always been able to work out why my baby cries without this machine. I can do this because I AM HER FATHER.
