A Heart-warming book to cherish with a child, April 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Why Do You Love Me? (Library Binding)
I found this book at our public library, and our whole family loves it! I mentioned it to one of the children's librarians, and she loves it, too! All too often children today are criticized or frowned upon for making mistakes, for getting their clothes dirty, for running and playing -- for just being kids. Children of all ages still benefit from being reassured that they are loved and accepted by a parent/caregiver. Unconditional love is the true message of this charming little book. The soft illustrations are an effective accompanyment to the text. The child's and his father's facial expressions are realistic. His questions and movements on each page are so typical for 3-to-7-year-olds. My 6-year-old daughter laughed at the little boy's antics and the father's responses. She loved looking for the expressive little dog on each page. She was ecstatic when she could read the book by herself. Even my 5th-grade son said, "That's cute!" I encourage you to read it and see!
