5.0 out of 5 stars great book for all
To the person who wrote the review stating about the Back remedies I say that homeopatic remedies can be a valid alternative medical treatment in some cases, (it is even in people many times) and Rosemary Low states that one should be "reffered to a homeopatic vet", and not just administer different essences as one please to a sick parrot. 1.0 out of 5 stars Recommends useless quack treatments
This book does a great disservice to pet owners by its endorsement and recommendation of unproven alternative treatments.

"Bach" remedies contain alchohol and have never been tested or proven effective as treatment for any medical or behavioral problems by any recognized scientific study.

This review is from: Why Does My Parrot . . . ? (Why Does My . . . ? series) (Hardcover)
Closing this parenthesis I think this book is an excellent reading for new parrot owners who want to learn the most on how to keep their new friend happy and healthy, for old owners who want to understand some behavioural motivation of their parrot, and lastly for breeders who sell hand fed babies and should therefore understand parrot education and much more (hopefully to the advantage of their potential buyers).

4.0 out of 5 stars Why does my parrot...? Good advice, nice format, January 3, 2001
This review is from: Why Does My Parrot . . . ? (Why Does My . . . ? series) (Hardcover)
This is a great book with excellent basic information and advice written for the PET parrot owners. The format is especially helpful for finding the appropriate information quickly. I found the chapter on different species profiles to be the least interesting; It could have been omitted. Still, I consider this book a "must" for all first-time pet parrot owners and those who do not have a lot of time to research and read on parrot behavior.
