Mokyr covers up the overriding fact of Ireland's Holocaust of 1845-1850; that Britain had to deploy more than half of its then-empire army to remove, at gunpoint, Ireland's abundant foods. Only Mokyr knows why he concealed a genocide. In addition to 12,900 carbine-toting constables, some 37,000 militia members, of Britain's army totaling 130 regiments, sixty-seven were deployed at that time in Ireland for that purpose.
