1.0 out of 5 stars Read the Kindle Customer Reviews instead January 8, 2008
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This 'book' is really nothing more than a customer review of the Kindle. It claims that Amazon was generating hype about the device by purposely limiting the initial supply, does some brief prognostications about the future of the device and how self-publishing of fluff pieces like this will proliferate with the Kindle.

Note: you can't download a free sample of this 'book' because it is shorter than a typical Kindle sample.

Save a dollar and read the customer reviews instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Read Kindle reviews by non-Kindle owners/users February 29, 2008
Format:Kindle Edition
It is an extraordinary waste of time to read a review by somebody who does not own/use a Kindle. I have had mine since Dec 10, 2007, have hundreds of books, magazines and blogs on there, take my Kindle with me everywhere including business travel, and spend hours a day reading multiple books on my Kindle.
It is frankly insulting to be told that the 'Kindle will fail' by an ignorant non-owner/user, when I have logged the hundreds of hours that I have on my Kindle and sincerely believe that the Kindle will NOT fail- evidenced by the probably 15 other people who I have shown mine to and who have subsequently ordered one for their very own! And not a one has come back and told me that I misled them. Don't even wast your time unless you just have a negative orientation and you really like to slam things that you know little or nothing about. As Lincoln said, paraphrased- "It is far better to keep your mouth shut than to talk and remove any doubt about your ignorance."

1.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate, completely biased book. February 2, 2008
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I actually purchased this book to simply evaluate what the author had to say about something he seemed to be informed about. However, the author admits that he has never haed a kindle, abd it seems like he is basing his opinions on brief overviews that do not comr close to ezplaining all of the features: however, some of his observations are partially correct. Sure you can buy a dictionary seperate, but once you come across a few words on a page that you dont understand, you will truely appreciatee the speed at which you xan find definiyions with minimal effort. amother invalid observation is that the kindle only crawls across the internet; it is faster than dial up and free so why complain? i simply believe the author wrote this book as a cheap trick to get you to spend your money on something tyhat will surely@attract your attention.
Simply put, i took the time to write this review to tell you that there is no truth to this article, and to not waste your money on it.

I wonder if the author wants to rewrite his booklet now. Four to five years later, Kindle has gone through several incarnations and is still humming along.

1.0 out of 5 stars Seems kind of odd....
Haven't read this "book", but doesn't it seem a little strange to anyone else that you'd write a book bashing the kindle that is published for the kindle?

1.0 out of 5 stars Rip off! It is not even up to date.
Rick is a cheap chump who is a money machine. This is just a bad review of the kindle. Rick probably has enough money now to buy many kindles. Read more

Is this really worth it?
The title is supposed to be ironic. It starts off as a scathing critique, before coming around to show why the Kindle really won't fail. In other words, it does have a happy ending. Promise.
