5.0 out of 5 stars Nicely paced, very sexy, second chance at love, August 27, 2011
By
I'm a sucker for second chance love stories and this was no exception. I can't believe there aren't other reviews on this because it was such a wonderful surprise of a fast paced, very steamy, short, but not too short, story.

Adam Clayton is going through some major life changes. His doctor has advised him that he needs to slow his lifestyle as a wall street broker or he'll meet an early heart attack like his father. He resigns and decides to take a long overdue trip to Europe where he'll live the carefree bachelor life while he figures out what his next move will be. While filling in for his best friend, Nick, at his photography studio, he's supposed to reschedule all the client's since Nick's wife went into labor, but when Mallory Altman, the one who got away, walks through the door for her appointment, Adam is rendered near speechless and brainless and goes ahead and completes her photo shoot. Unfortunately, or fortuntaly, depending on how you look at it, the shoot is boudoire style with Mallory in sexy La Perla lingerie for her current boyfriend. Mallory cannot believe the embarassing situation she finds herself in, since for her, Adam was her first love and he broke her heart 10 years ago when they were nothing more than kids, but she goes through with it and struggles with all the old feelings she has for him. As events unfold, Adam and Mallory find that they are still very attracted to one another and agree to one night of passion before Adam leaves for Europe for three months, but as that one very steamy night unfolds, they each reminiscse over the feelings they have for one another and need to decide if they're going to let the one that got away, get away again.

I really like the pacing of the book and how events in their past and the explanations made move the story along. It's not just one night of sex, although there was definitely that as well. It also added to the believability factor since the emotions they shared ten years ago were never resolved and everything comes rushing to the forefront. It's a romantic, steamy, sexy and well thought modern love story that I really enjoyed. Overall, I'm never disappointed by this author's stories.
